Temp the Revelator 0 Posted August 9, 2004 I must say I was suitably impressed with him on Saturday against Sunderland - best player on the park, IMO. Bring it on if it''s true!
Vlad 0 Posted August 9, 2004 Davenport & Ashton (Dean of) are both mentioned on the "football-rumours.com" website. Stop heckling at the back, I know it isn''t an authoritative site, but it does quote "various sources". Posters elsewhere note Ashtons commitment to Crewe. I note footballers unfailing ability to put themselves first, regardless of legal contracts. [Not staking any claim to a moral high ground, just an observation.]
Temp the Revelator 0 Posted August 9, 2004 Agreed Vlad, what Ashton may or may not say about wanting to stay at Crewe should be taken with a large helping of salt - I still believe the problem will not be Ashton''s reluctance to join City, more that our valuation of him will fall a long way short of Dario''s valuation of him (rumoured around these parts to be £2m plus, the main reason there have been no offers for him this summer). nolegs 0 Posted August 9, 2004 have to agree with vlad a footballers commitment to his club is usually worth as much as when the board give a public statement of support for the manager.
