Carl Cort... first impressions

Recommended Posts

A few good things and a few times he was to easily beaten by an opponent which hopefully we can put down to rustiness!

The odds are he won''t do much but then again I ope we can soon offload him if he doesn''t come up to scratch?

I thought he was quite poor tbh, didn''t win alot in the air and had a terrible first touch. Wheter that''s because he lacks fitness and sharpness or he''s just shit we''ll see, I''ll give him a few more games before deciding.
at first he had trouble putting one leg in front of the other  but gradually got himself moving, i also noticed that up until cort  came on lita didn`t win a thing in the air but   when charlton had the big man to worry about lita  was winning everything almost unchallenged so big carls going to have his uses .. it did seem strange seeing such a giant in city colours though
It was fantastic to see a target man playing for City (Sieb. is not a target man)!

a leciester fan told me cort was a joke for them last season,,,the ole boy is knackered, way past his best, very-very static, waiting for the ball to come to him, couldn''t (wouldn''t) jump, and didn''t get stuck in, (wooried about his knee???)...so after saturday - is corty simply unfit OR unfit for purpose???

I didn''t see him as i wasn''t there on Sat but i feel generally, if he can get properly fit, he could be a real nuisance, also with regards to the poster who said his leicester fan mate said he was immobile etc, you have to remember he was plagued by the knee at that point and has since had an op and intense rehab with one of the top knee specialists around, not saying its a guaranteed thing, but i think he could be a real asset if he gets match fit, he used to have a fabulous first touch so hopefully that will return with more games. Its very low risk aswell as he is signed on a pay as you play deal so no worries if he cant get back to his former self, we won''t be paying for him, unlike that balding lump we had for the first 15 games of the season!

It wouldn''t matter a jot if there were such a thing as an Einstein for knee problems - once the crucial ligaments go they''re gone for good - no amount of surgery or rest can ever put that right. It''s water on the knee/s all the way through another ineffective season for Cort.

Histon or Kings Lynn might sign him up next year.

never heard so much bolllocks in my life. for a start its cruciate ligaments, and many acl reconstructions have resulted in the performer retrning to the top level. i.e owen, van nistelrooy, zema abbey, gialllanza i could go on

Do please go on with your comprehensive list, because of the ones you''ve listed. none of ''em make half a season.

Twot.

Another ex-Newcastle player so he''s my 2 cents worth...When he was with us, he was pretty poor but somehow popped up with a goal every couple of games he was fit - unfortunately that also wasn''t very often. A season or so after he signed we broke into the top 4, and he was injured for most of it. Scored a good goal against Everton like, but that''s not really reason to celebrate. I''ve no idea what he''s like physically now, but I shouldn''t imagine he''s in good condition, put it that way. Sibierski will be a much better option if he ever gets over his latest knock.
