So being in our worst position in half a decade doesnt merit change, yet Robert Chases regime did?

Care to explain please......any takers?
Half a decade?  Has it been that long already?  Gosh, doesn''t time fly.
Sorry half a century, but please answer my question, instead of dodging it Doncaster style.

Surely a wind-up? He has only 13 posts, several of which are on this thread, and when I searched under "Gareth Lights" nothing came up.
I thought that too Tim, when I looked at teatime he''d done 7 posts in nearly 3 years and none of them come up in a search.

I''m surprised so many people have replied and fell for his windup [:D]
I''m surprised as well, as so many people have replied - makes me guilty as the rest as I''ve responded to him and raised his profile. At least, he/she/it provided me with some entertainment whilst the dinner was cooking.

My rule on message board is never to say something in a post that I would not be prepared to say to their face, and I''m pleased to say I didn''t break that rule this evening.

Fellow City fans, your club needs you, a call to arms!

After much communication between fellow supporters and friends, we have over 100 people who are in favour of protest.

We have decided the protest against the board and management, will take place on the 28th December 2008, meeting at The Coach and Horses at around 2pm, then marching past the station, through the riverside complex and morrisons, and finally demonstrating outside the City Stand.

Placards and banners are welcome, we already have some aswell as leaflets, with pictures of Roeder and Delia with the title "lets be avin you.....OUT!"

We need our 12th man here, come on lets be avin you!!!!!!!!!!!!!

See you on the 28th.

Happy xmas.
So whats your objective??

If you want Delia out I presume you would be happy with administration as there is nobody coming forward to invest!!

Think about the real world, sorry won''t be joining you.
Did you know of anyone lined up when we demonstated to get rid of Chase? No!

If you think things can get better under this lot then so be it but in my eyes it will only get worse.

I bet you anything if she stepped aside there WOULD be someone to takeover with more money and more ambition.
Yes there was and are you Smudger in disguise I will claim my £10.00

Oh and have you got some food for the dog?
Yes there was, was there?

Care to explain as nobody knew of anyone at the time. That much is common knowledge.

By the way before you say it, it wasnt Delia, she didnt invest till november, 6 months after the great Watling, before she went round telling everyone she saved the club. Urban myth mate.
Definately Smudger thats his standard answer to something he knows NOTHING about. I was there at the Club AT THE TIME and do.

So please go and have your demo with your friends and give us all a laugh!

I''m quite surprised at some of you - you want a change of ownership, but then spend the evening nit-picking over a supposed protest leaders post count and such like. Of course one could surmise that some don''t want a solution to the problem, as they would then have to find another subject about which they can have a good moan.......

Quite surprised at the amount of hostility being directed at the OP.  Is it because people consider the whole concept of a "protest" to be wrong (if so, why?) or is it because you think the OP is on a wind-up?  If it''s neither of the above then is it because the majority of those who have responded to the OP are happy and content with the current state of the Club?  Personally I agree that we are on the verge of being in as bad a state as we''ve been in half a century (relegation back to 3rd division highly possible, finances in an appalling state and we only own half of the squad) so if someone can''t protest now without being ridiculed then when on earth can they?

You may well be right and personally I think any "protest" would be a futile gesture anyway (voting at the Club''s AGM is about my limit).  No, I was just wondering why there was such antagonism directed towards the original poster.

You might have a long wait as we were promised a protest on 28th. But if you were in the C&H on 28th, I suspect that you would have an equally long wait.

Just off to the game now, looking forward to reading the developments on this thread later this evening.

Lets face it it seems like a protest for the sake of a protest. People will soon lose interest in a protest they''re not that passionate about - I doubt you will get more than a dozen "fans" for your protest mate.
Even more stupid, then.(a) if we beat Charlton and Palace, how many will want to protest on the 28th before another likely home win?(b) the time to protest is not just before the transfer window opens - it is after the window closes and we (might) find we''ve sold without replacingIt''s a wind up.  Has to be.

Totally agree with you Pete, although I doubt very much that any protest is actually in the offing.

The hostility on this thread explains perfectly why there has been no protests and why the boards disastrous policies have not been seriously challenged.

Even during the Chase out days protestors were verbally and physically abused and spat at and then of course those people danced a jig when Delia took over but were too thick to realise what hypocrites they were.  K.Roads was sworn at and told to "shut up" at last years AGM for politely asking the board some difficult questions.

We doon`t loike change in these paaarts, do we?

Oh yes Im really Smudger..........

I apperently come from "The Pit"......now is that the snakepit or marlpit? To answer that i live on St Olaves Road and sit in the Barclay, E block to be precise.

Yes its a wind up........

Christ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For all your abuse, wind up claims and other insults, amoungst the 6 pages or so this thread has run up, not 1 of you has given me a decent reason WHY NOY? Timing is the only one, ands to that I say there is never a right time.

I havent insulted you or used foul language, so why use it to me? Last resort?

Nobody answers my questions or arguments except with abuse, now it makes you wonder why.....perhaps because there isnt any answer you can think of?

Oh and claims that im a newbie to justify this is a wind up, well, just look at when i joined its on the left hand side, over 2 years ago people!

And then theres this theory becuase I havent posted before on here. Well I explained once but obviously I didnt make it clear enough. I joined over 2 years ago as an observer nothing more, as I do with most sites. My contacts through work friends, internet forums used by other friends and socialising have been discussing the crisis we are in, and over 100 want to protest.

Like it or not. Believe it or not. We will be meeting at the Coach and Horses at 2pm to protest on the 28th.

Ive got nothing else to say as all ive had is abuse, yet you call me all sorts of names for doing this protest? A lot of you need to look in the mirror.

Happy Xmas

Gareth

Out of curiousity, have you informed the police of the march/demo? (you need to do so)

Have you written to the local media to publicise it?

I''ve seen no mention on the official site''s messageboard - have you pushed this on other forums?

Do you have a name for this protest - or some clear objectve? What are you hoping to achieve?

Are you making banners/flyers, a website?

Does this movement have a name?

(I''m not being sarcastic - genuine questions)

Maybe your proposed demo will clear the air and you will realise what an insignificant minority you are. We can then all move on to more positive ideas for taking the club forward.
