The sell on clause couldnt come at a better time.

chicken 0 Posted December 4, 2008 Well although he is not on that list he has been linked with a fair few clubs so I wouldn''t rule Green out of a move either. It wouldn''t take much to prize him away from them - something like £3-4million and the Hammers would have to think hard about it. Tottenham were linked to him for starters! One interesting thing in there though is Calum Davenport. Roeder has worked with him at West Ham and he has played for us before - I wonder how much it would take to get him here? It would be a good move in my opinion as then we would have another permanent signing at the heart of defence.

Think they would be looking at more than £3-4m. Closer to £6m more like.

Davenport has been there a couple of seasons at most, he is either a Curbs or Pardew signing, if I remember correctly he was signed when they were in the bottom 3 in the january window. Smudger 0 Posted December 4, 2008 What a pr!ck... Dean Ihaveambitionton...Of course you would of stayed at Norwich waiting for Delia to give a manager enough finance to build a team around you yes??? [:$]
newyorkcanary 14 Posted December 4, 2008 Can''t see us making much if anything off Ashton. Are sell on clauses a pecentage of the sale, or of the profit? Because if its of the profit, I doubt he''ll go for much more than 7 million. And 15% of that is pennies. Sorry to be a gloom merchant... not like there isn''t enough of that here anyways. IF he goes to Tottenham HOTspur for say between £15m and £18m (see the article)......then its 15% of £7.8 - £10.8m which is not pennies (or cents).Enjoy Obama!Have a nice day! Ferdinand was never worth that value in the overall market. Sunderland also paid 9 million for Gordon which was also certainly excessive. With the large amount of money Sunderland spent it looks like all it will yield is relegation. Now Keane is gone. Do you think anyone on the Sunderland front is now thinking they got it all wrong? Here''s my thinking. I bet a year from now Sunderland are closer to administration than Norwich will ever be.

Merely stating that his transfer fee was £8m. does not mean I think it was a realistic valuation!Enjoy Obama!Have a nice day!
Desert Fox 0 Posted December 5, 2008 A 15% share of the profit would help pay for Lita. Lets say he went for £15M that woudl produce a prfoit of circa £1.1M.
