Hardhouse44 289 Posted November 23, 2008 If he hadn''t pull the player down he would have surely gone on to score putting us one down and heads would have dropped. resulting in us not getting a goal two minutes later and going on to lose 3 nil. Or even if the game had followed the exact same route we would have only drawn 2-2. Crazy? Yes I agree but no more crazy than fans on here slating him again and using the sending off as an excuse to once again attack a player who has used his limited talents to serve our club as well as he can and far better than many. This message board is full of false dawners and so whaters. I have come to a conclusion that whilst I can clearly see that we need a change at the top, due to apathy, unwillingness and a mixture of hope and loyalty we as fan can do little if any thing to make that happen at this juncture. Maybe if things became as some even wish more dire we could in some way increase the pressure on the board but whilst we continue to put in occasional performances like last night we will never unite as one to oust the leaders and without somebody to replace them what good would it do anyway.I have thought a lot about this over the last few weeks and can only really see one course of action as a fan. To enjoy the wins when they come along to not get carried away by them because they mean nothing unless the are in groups and to keep a level head. False dawn or so What’s. If there is something in the middle I hope that’s what I can be because I wouldn''t be happy to always be one of the others.I''m looking forward to Tuesday and expecting........ well I don''t know what I''m expecting but I''m still looking forward to being there when it does happen! What more can I say. Oh yeah OTBC

Particularly liked this bit above. The same needs to also go for defeats. It''s rich that there''s a well known twunt on this message board who has started a "Don''t Get Carried Away" thread when we win - but when we lose, it''s SMITH OUT RODENT OUT SACK THE BOARD EVERYTHING''S DOOMED... getting carried away by one defeat maybe? It''s going to be that kind of season. Let''s enjoy the nice surprises the club give us like a 10-man away win at Forest, because we''re going to be given some sh*t this season too.
grantroederdisaster 0 Posted November 23, 2008 Possibly true about Doc! We''ll miss him cause he is by far our best CB and Kennedy is overated and is struggling! Great result - A wins a win, this is a results business but lets be realistic - This was against a very poor Forest side and it took a world class performance from Marshall and a fortunate OG winner to do it! Lets not let this result paper over the cracks as Glen Roeder(nowhere) will no doubt be hoping! I can''t nothing but a dour fight against relegation while Roeders in charge! grantroederdisaster 0 Posted November 23, 2008 It would be costly sacking Roeder but I think this would be cheaper in the long run than keeping him in charge too long cause we will at best only just stay up with him at the helm and we won''t be selling 20,000 season tickets next season whatever League we''re in! Has he had too many bashes on his joints and is looking after his body and career? Is this what you get sometimes with a loanee. He has been hyped up a bit too much for my liking and although I''m generally happy with him being with us, I''d be happier if he got to play with another central defender for a decent spell to get a better understanding and a complementary relationship going. Our back line is like a bus queue at the moment.
Shack Attack 0 Posted November 24, 2008 Good post HH. The way I tend to look at it is ''We are where we are''. We all have our own views on why this is, with the vast majority now believing the blame rests with those at the top, which have been aired time and time again. It''s going to be a long, hard season so when a decent performance such as the one on Saturday comes along we better make the most of it. Not get carried away and start talking about making the play offs but see it for what it is, a small step forward. The thing that impressed my with the peformance against Forest was that everybody seemed to want the ball. When you''re in a struggling team it''s the easiest thing in the world to hide when your team mates have the ball but I didn''t see any of that on Saturday. That leads me to believe that we''ll just about be OK but until we see big changes in how the club is run that is all we will be.
Tumbleweed 106 Posted November 24, 2008 The spirit and attitude on Sat was amazing. When was the last time Norwich won when down to 10 men? When was the last time we won on TV? when was the last time we did both? It would have been so easy to have capitulated when the equaliser went in, but they continued to play some good passing football and not just hump the ball clear for the entire second half. I''d still like more assertiveness in the middle and I thought we gave them too much space in the last third, but a great result. We clearly have a long way to go, but the team must take some confidence from coming through this massive banana skin. As HH said it doesn''t change the fact that we are in for a tough season, but mentally that was a good showing on Saturday and GR must take some credit for sorting the tactics and formation out and keeping them playing throughout. Until we see the change at the top we are what we are. And with Delia openly offering to sell the club to anybody who has the resources to by it what more can we or she do. Before the AGM it was always widely held that she was putting unrealistic provisos on the potential buyer. She has said now that the club is up for sale to anybody who can muster up the dosh.
