I have ignored this summers signings but feel the team below would compete well against nearly all other NCFC teams over that period...

Green

Bowen Polston Newsome Culverhouse

Fox Crook Scott Parker Eadie

Bellamy Sutton

Subs

Gunn, Nedegaard, Huckerby, Matt Jackson, McVeigh

I don''t think loan signings should be allowed. Therefore, in my opinion, you should replace Parker with quite simply our best tackling midfielder since Townsend - Gary Holt.

Can''t disagree with anything else though - apart from perhaps the mighty Flem in place of Newsome.

Yeah, that team would do okay... especially with 12 players!

Do you think Green is better than Gunn? I guess this time next year we might think differently, depending on how Green, Drury, Huckerby etc get on... players we have high hopes for.

I agree that Parker was a bit of a cheeky inclusion but he looked England class while he was here - I added scott to make it clear who I meant. Other than him yes I probably would go for Holt if loanees are excluded!

As far as green is concerned yes I do rate him better than Gunny even though he is very early in his career. IMHO Greeno is as good now as gunny was at his peak.

Everything about his approach to the game, ability to command his area and learn from mistakes gives me great belief he will be an England keeper before too long - which will mean a relatively short NCFC career.

Time will tell - but I intend to appreciate his talent while I can.
