Someone told me that on Thursday Radio Norfolk carried a brief story saying that Wimpeys the builders had withdrawn from a pre-contract arrangement to buy the Phase 2 Development Land, and that there was also a small article in the Evening News to that effect. Anyone know if this is true?Also I read on another thread that Doncaster had set a target of May 2008 to sell that land. Anyone have a link to where he said that?

In the current climate it might be worth waiting for land prices to increase.

Yes we are in financial meltdown, but just giving it away is pointless - plus greedy developers make so much money from flats its untrue.

Just thought, Taylor Wimpey are in meltdown as well, laying people off a couple of months back - and closing sites.

In the current climate it might be worth having a strategy to cope should the loan not be rolled over. But we don''t.

We have known for a while - as Doncaster and the Turners have told us - that our non-executive directors don''t perform the second function. And now they themselves have revealed that they don''t do the first.Still, if you want to boil an egg they might be able to help.

They probably have a short term tactic of using £4m from the working capital .........£2.5m to repay the loan related to the non entertaining ex LSE land and may be if we are very lucky something spent (I am being an optimist on this) on the squad such as a target man.
