Marty 0 Posted November 20, 2008 how on earth has Bent got into the Englan team? he was awful, I am sure we have more talenmt that this? The rest of the team did well, played with more passion, I think an important lesson has been learnt.

Cappelo didnt know how he was going to play before the game did he?but i think almost the same 11 that started last night should be the permanent team, mabey swapping defoe for someone like rooney
Shack Attack 0 Posted November 20, 2008 I didn''t watch it but I''m assuming we looked a lot better with Carrick in CM. Can''t believe it''s taken this long for Capello to get him in the team. It''s no coincidence that Spurs have gone from challenging the top four to relegation candidates since he left and Man Utd have won the league twice and the European Cup once since his arrival. Probably the most underrated player in the country.

It was 60 seconds of pure Keystone Cops when he managed to block his own shot into an open net followed by Carson''s decisiveness at the other end! What a great team performance, though.Even people I don''t particularly rate, like Johnson and Downing, looked really good, and you can really see Capello''s influence now with us combining good old English hard work with Continental composure on the ball.It starting to look really good. whoareyou? 0 Posted November 20, 2008 Bent is in the top 4 highest scorers on the Premier league in recent years and hasn''t played for a succesful team in all that time. I think his record alone means he deserves a chance.
Mr.Carrow 394 Posted November 20, 2008 For the first time ever i agree IBA [:P]. IMO the national team comes very much second for some players and those players need to be weeded out. Carrick was superb.
BGG&YPOS 0 Posted November 20, 2008 Agree with you Beauseant, those 2 worked well in the middle and should be there now on merit, Lampard and Gerrard should now be made to fight to get in the team.
Paul Spector 0 Posted November 20, 2008 Carrick is generally a very classy player and I''ve always thought he should be starting more games for England. He is far more composed on the ball than any of our other players and has a great eye for a pass.

Also the majority of fans (me included) put club firstT''was a breath of fresh air to be sure

It is refreshing to see a player comfortable with the ball using either foot.He big downfall however is that (like Safri with us) despite having good passing ability and excellent ball retention he does not do enough of it in the final third of the pitch where he could do much more damage. He just sits to much.

Syteanric 1 Posted November 22, 2008 Carson has played twice for england and made 2 cock ups... England goalkepper or just in the squad because he''s an Englishman?you have to blame him for the German goal.. John Terry, much as i dont like him, was relying on a call from Carson.. who could see the German player behind Terry.. Carson has 2 choices.. shout "clear it!" or come out and smother it, ok he might flatten Terry in the process, or JT might of hurdled over him.. either way it stops a goal...Goalkeppers these days seem to not use thier voices... Greeno was sometimes guilty of it for us, I also think thats a reaon Marshall makes so many mistakes, perhaps with Carson too.... they need to shout! the keeper can see everything on the pitch.. his team mates cant see whats behind them...jas :)
