Not really that hard to understand is it? Institutions loan/give/sponsor various facets of the Club usually with a stipulation as to how the money is spent.

I think it''s more that they want something they could sell to recoup any losses if it all went wrong - hence infrastructure, bricks and mortar etc.  Would you have put up money for Hartson in the hope that you could sell him on?[:|]

When I started up I had a business loan to do so and they took a charge on the house I own to guarantee they''d have a chance to get it back if we went Mammaries Up. Fortunately, we didn''t but they would have been covered and I''ve no argument with that - otherwise they go bust long term if everyone else does.

It seems to me your problems are deep rooted and long lasting.  I cannot comment further.

Don''t be fooled by Bob again people I mean what sort of pussy class dictator permits newspaper reporting anyway?

I am living proof that Xenophobia in moderation is a viable and succesful policy.  I have won many medals from the Ugandan army, have received many hundreds of luxury automobiles and have been elevated to almost godlike status by the people of my country for my work.

Not many questioned me when I first took power and insisted that all businesses should belong to locals, not many chose to stand against me in the polling booths as we democratically elected my Government and senior aides. In public meetings dissenters are soon drowned by the state guards or by the marvellous supporters we strategically place around the meeting halls and voting booths.

Our army comprising a 50/50 mix of full time regulars and crack mercenaries is highly trained and extremely proactive, we jokingly call them the loons, you would not want to mess with these crazy boys have you seen how high they can kick a football?. We first try the softly softly approach with dissenters by talking to them through the state owned media, if this fails we have a number of alternative strategies which can range from banning flags and banners carrying political slogans from formal gatherings to deportation. In the interests of fairness we also apply the same rules to ourselves with the effect that in the last few years alone we have deported two Chiefs of Staff and any number of junior officers and regular soldiers. Last year we had to resort to deporting one of our most popular officers, a winner of many medals and awards from the people.

Even I myself Idi Amin Protector of the Faith am not above public accountability in this country. Every four years we have an election to re-elect me. Unlike Bob Mugabe''s farces these elections are entirely democratically run.   Those who want me to remain emperor for another term need simply put a ''x'' in the box next to ''Idi Amin'' or leave it blank and we will fill it in for you. Those who are completely mad in the head, have forgotten how I saved you from destruction and choose to seek alternative to my wonderful Government are free to request the special postal ballot form which is available upon written request from Iamahar dbas tard, State investigator Judge and Executioner, Wunwai prison and medical research institute, Kampala, Ki11 U2. For identification purposes all those requesting a postal vote must supply the names and addresses of all close family members, these votes are then collected by our special postmen so dedicated that they often work through the night ensuring all voters are accounted for. What can be fairer than this? Our records are open for public inspection at the above address again on production of the requisite family records.

In times of great badness we have a Witch Doctor who can cast the most wonderful of spells upon our foes, our state scientists have discovered that the mirth and feeling of levity induced by the sight of an old man with a bone through his nose chanting strange hexadecimal languages to a computer monitor and anyone who''ll listen probably has more effect on the outcome than the spell per se but who am I to start interfering with our rich heritage?

Industry in my country has never been better, we Ugandans have a proud heritage of baking and construction work. Many fine buildings have been erected in my time as King, we even have a new glass construction which emulates the famous pyramid outside the Louvre, we have more than enough office space to meet demand and a plan in place to house the entire population of Kampala in a single estate is going through our Parliament as I speak. As Crown Prince of my Country it is important that my glorious reign as Governer-General is commemorated so we have recently approved plans to build a gargantuan monument to myself in the form of a multi storey car park. This car park design is a thing of beauty and awe, upon entering the car park, vehicles will actually drive between the legs of a 70 foot high statue of myself as they approach the ramp to the ticket dispenser. Despite the famillee silver mine yielding it''s last few ounces of silver a couple of years back, the gross export of my Country (of which I am a Demi God btw) has never been higher due to the export of many, many footballers to the British Premiership and Championship leagues. I am like the God who lost a silver mine and found a gold mine whilst looking. (It''s an old Ugandan saying).

Gross export income is currently running at about 20% of National turnover so stick that up your pipe and smoke it America!

So don’t listen to that bitter, twisted old man Bob Mugabe, he’s trying to unsettle you and cause unrest amongst the classless peasants of your land. I say there’s nothing wrong with running things my way, if you disagree then you are completely mad in the head bonkers and don’t know what’s good for you so it’s a good job you’ve got somebody who does know wet nursing you because you’re probably some sort of classless retard who still wears nappies and can’t even tell the difference between chardonnay and blue nun but I’ve got my eye on you and know where you sit on a Saturday.

Love Idi.

Every bit as much as you are the real Mr. Bump.

For a long time I have observed the actions of the regime at Carrow Road and found myself purring in agreement.  We are, how might I say - spiritual cousins?

Idi, my love and respect to you, your many wives and employees of your noble and benign country which will flower again as does the Rose in spring.

Your point on newspaper reporting is noted.  However, I would remind you that I only allow the same four members of my regime to talk to the press, and I only allow them to talk on a Monday to lift spirits after a difficult weekend and a Friday to issue a rallying cry.  The interviews are in fact facsimiles of previous interviews which my blind orphan boys have stuck into a "pick and mix" collage of quotations.  The regime member then appends his name to the whole thing and presto, we have an interview.

Transparency in this is of course important which is why I allow them to pose for a photograph at the training and detention centre.

Far be it from me to disagree with your policy, Mr. Amin, but I would suggest the balance of 50/50 between footsoldiers and hired mercenaries is a precarious one.  What should you do if a bigger nation came calling - Denmark, for example?  You would be better to recruit more soldiers from the local area and give them a rudimentary education and training.  If they then fail, at least the populace will say "but at least they were ours".  They will take pride and rise up with the local soldiers, do you see?

Running things is difficult, do not believe any man who tells you otherwise.  This torments me so.  Some nights I confess I cannot sleep and so I lie in bed and count the zeroes at the end of our inflation rate until I feel myself fall once more into a deep, colourless sleep.

With, once more, my greatest love and respect for your achievements

Uncle Bob

"quote user="Roedy Can''t Fail!!"  "What is hard to understand is how after £5m she had a 58% shareholding yet is claiming to have put in £12m for 60%."

The £12m thing is just a myth put about by lazy journalists.  I emailed D.Cuffley asking him to verify the figure, but was not given a reply.....

I think it`s a simple case of lazy people getting mixed up with what the shares are WORTH now (which if you add on the new £2m loan comes to about £12m) and what they actually cost.  The initial 42% they bought from Chase cost less than £1m so there is no way- even allowing for dilution from the share issues- that 60% cost over £10m.

..........the money invested in the catering facilities came exclusively from private funds and sponsorship, and "could not have been used for football players"..........[:|]
I think I''m right in saying that funds from Banks can''t be used on footballers.  So if it''s money from the securitisation for example, then it has to be used on bricks and mortar, or we can''t have it.  If you can build bricks and mortar projects that create cash-flow to buy footballers though, that''s allowed.

I''ve heard that Evans is going to make Poorman Road a massive entertainment complex.  Maybe Delia and Mikey did the right thing, shock horror ?

Yeah, it was just after young Bellers went to pastures new.....that the big extension to the rear of the Barclay was erected ever so quickly - you''d have thought that someone had dropped viagra into the construction workers tea-urn....BOING!

Never figured what funded that?[^o)] (Not the viagra, but the big catering restaurant thingy behind the Barclay)...

I don''t give a monkey''s ar$e about Ipsh*t.....I''d just want to see investment on the pitch (core product) but then the obsession with bricks and mortar overtook all that....Because, if mass construction over squad destruction was the way forward - we wouldn''t be in the financial poop that we are, would we? Still, you just keep those collagen injected lips of yours tightly pursed, puckered and firmly wedged to the board''s ar$e.....

Will you be gracing Carra with your attendance today? Perhaps not....But I''ll do your CE and Board fawning for you.....NOT!
