Regrettably he deserved it.Foolish mistake. Despite it clearly not being malicious, it''s a mistake that just cannot be made...Our misfortunes rest on his shoulders today.

I was actually dragged to the game today, to see if my passion could be reignited, it wasn''t and if anything now my better half''s passion is all gone too.

Rusty was very petulant in his first spell I agree jas, in fact today I realised he hasn''t changed that much at all.  Stupid stupid boy Rusty.

He pushed his hand into the players face and pushed him away, however people try to rationalise it it was a sending off.  If it had been a NC player it had happened to the fans would have gone mad if the player didn''t get a red card.

IMHO the ref got it right.

It''s a shame he has these crazy moments, as most of the time he is one of our better players

i''ve said this many times before but if we had a real leader on the pitch maybe they''d give him a talking to

As I saw it the Preston player had his arm round Rusty''s neck pulling his head back and Rusty put his hand on his face and pushed him back.

Guess that will always be a red card offence however hard he pushed or didnt push him.

You have to be the bigger person IMHO, the Preston player done his job in winding Rusty up enough to get him sent off.  Rusty has been around the game long enough to know you just walk away.

Totally brainless and probably cost us two points.Players know what will happen if they raise their hands, so there are no excuses.I don''t understand why he felt the need to get involved...it was our free kick for Christ''s sake!

Right in front of the ref, no choice but to send him off I''m afraid. Had already been booked as well so if the ref had of decided to be lenient and go for the yellow he''d still of walked.

Sent off because he is a tw*t - at least now he is in my eyes. He was having a good game but it all counts for nothing now.

As someone rightly pointed out on Canary Call, how will Roeder address indiscipline such as this when he can''t address his own?

I am yet to hear Roeder''s post match comments - did he blame the ref?

Indirectly, yes. He didn''t defend Rusty but made a sarcastic comment about it being ok for the Preston player to have his hands round Rusty''s throat!

I just can''t believe Russell allowed himself to get so wound up. They will be well chuffed with a point, a poor poor side who created nothing and had about three shots. Against an even worse one - we needed every player on the pitch.

IMO, he cost us the game, we lost shape when he went off and people were not too sure what they were doing, we were looking comfortable until he was a complete idiot. I feel like it was a loss not a draw.

If we are against 10 men, we havnt a clue ! Preston knew exactly how to play against 10 men and we were ( in the end ) lucky not to lose ! Rusty, you cant influence the game when you are not on the pitch, I can not believe you fell for that wind up. Its not passion, its sheer stupidity [8o|]

Before anyone is too quick to criticise Russell''s actions today, lets consider the referee''s part  in this incident.

If between him and his linesman they are were not able to interpret this particular incident from start to finish without being so gullible as to fall for the Preston players playacting, then they should be struck of the list !

It should have been either a red card for both players or none at all, I''m laying the blame sqarely at the referee for these two dropped points today.
