Soldier on 160 Posted November 5, 2008 Not long now. Just wondered what people hope to get out of this. Last few years its been predicted that the board would have a torrid time of it and it simply hasnt happened. They''ve had long enough to prepare their answers although Im sure they felt we would be higher in the league than we have managed.Any revelations re investment?More doom & GloomDream scenario is the Cullum takeover being announced but dream scenarios dont happen at NorwichOTBC

WeAreYellows49 0 Posted November 5, 2008 What I hope will be said and what will be said are two different things entirely.I hope they give the fans some much needed hope re: investment. What they will probably reel out is the ''''everything is fine and rosie at NCFC, we will not be relegated and we are nowhere near administration, in fact it couldn''t be further from''''.[:|]
gazzathegreat 0 Posted November 5, 2008 Hopes for:Some up to date and constructive news re investment. What the board have been doing to attract investors (whether on a buy out basis or not). We should also hope for a completely different tone from last year''s event when the Board were very defensive - Munby''s remarks that the AGM could have been held in London and it was only out of the goodness of their hearts that it was held in Norwich, and of course Delia''s handling of Keith Road''s questions and observations to use just two examples. A frank and honest assessment of where the club is now (in terms of financial worth). What we supporters can do to help. Another share issue to be released perhaps? More investment plans with companies such as the Norwich and Peterborough BS? A similar assessment on team matters from Mr Roeder with clear indications as to where his long term planning lies. What loans will be needed post January for example. All in all I would like to see and hear the above. After that time given to both sides of the debate from the floor, not, as has happened in the past, a great percentage of that time given over to the club stooges who deliver long speeches about how we should be so damn grateful for everything the Board is doing, their aim being intentionally to quell and unrest and make any dissenting voice think twice before speaking. Not much to wish for, is it?
TIL 1010 4,722 Posted November 5, 2008 The first three shareholders on their feet in no particular order will be Cameron Newark,David Batley and Peter Wolsely. They will talk for a total of about thirty minutes between them but please don''t expect to find a question in what they say.It happened last year and the year before and the year before that and so on and so on........They get groaned at from the floor but does Munby shut them up? Nope so if this is your first AGM you have been warned.
Bury Green 0 Posted November 5, 2008 Dreams do happen at our club, the trouble is they are largely in the domain of Franz Kafka. What do I hope for at the forthcoming AGM? Questions from people Munby isn’t on first name terms with would be encouraging. No ridiculous question from Club Canary regulars about where the busses park would be refreshingMore than anything though, Smith doesn’t throw her toys out of her pram when asked a polite but searching question, that would be ------- amazing.Oh yes just one more thing, if any of the heinous little sycophants that like to get up annually to congratulate Smith & Jones “on doing such a wonderful job” it would be a really bad idea this year, a really really bad idea. The Fish Seller 0 Posted November 5, 2008 Please, please, please will somebody take ND to task over this statement of intent?Mr Doncaster said: “The situation at Carrow Road remains stable, controllable and is not one that should concern supporters.”He said the number of players on short-term contracts or loan deals meant the club could “easily” cut the player wage bill.Buthe added: “The player budget for Glenn Roeder has been spent for theseason. In the event that we are in a situation where investment inJanuary could make sense if we were doing well, we will do everythingwe can to support the manager.”He added that the economicdownturn would “hit Football League clubs a great deal harder” thanPremier League clubs, but was hopeful that recent player wage inflationhad peaked. Based on what data/report exactly Mr D? When asked what City could do if a major investorfailed to materialise, Mr Doncaster said: “Reduce the player wage bill, which is only currently affordable through the financial support of thedirectors.”Anything short of announcement of new investment/ a takeover at the AGM appears to mean that short term contracted players and/or loanees will be dropped from the wage bill.Have they set a trigger date or event? Why must any cost cutting always be at the expense of the playing squad?Who do they envisage releasing? How is weakening our squad further a realistic solution to our league struggle? Is this effectively just budgeting for relegation? What is your strategy to return to this League if we do get relegated? So many questions to be asked of this deplorable attitude towards our plight.
