.............to other desperate clubs

HAVING five loan players in the squad is not an issue for Nottingham Forest, Colin Calderwood insisted today, saying: "Their dedication is not in question."

The Reds have now reached the maximum number of loan players they are allowed to include in their 16-man match day squad in the Championship, following the arrival of the most recent addition, QPR goalkeeper Lee Camp.

In this league Norwich City have more loan players  than any other club although they have concentrayed on quantity not quality.

So is the italicized part of your post a quote? If so, does that quote include the last sentence? If it is a quote could you please state it''s source?

i would like to know where roeder gets his three year plan from..as he said , at the end of the season all the players will have to go back and we are back to square one.

and to take loan players in pay wages and never play them is crazy.

loan players are never going to feel the same as perminent players for the simple reason "it isnt thier home",

the sooner roeder and people realise this the better.

I  think GR''s plan was quite simple really; bring in 3 to 4 permanent players every season reducing the amount of loan players by the same amount. What he did not factor in was the financial side going tits up.

loans are good is they bought in for future deals - i.e stoke loaned leon cort last season

or if the player is going make significant difference to the team i.e mancienne with wolves

but norwich are mainly loaning anyone just to make up a squad

"top the league, and we avin a laugh"

Have to say I somewhat agree with you there.  I can''t say hand on heart that any of the loans are what i''d call classy high-level players.

But then again we are ''''just'''' Norwich City.

i mean the only players i think have added to your first team are

lita and kennedy

chopra gone to cardiff, he would been a good loanee rather than lupoli

Neither of those players are quality though are they?  If Lita was a top player he would not be sitting on Readings bench, and we wouldn''t have had him on loan.  Kennedy I quite like, also Lupoli, but GR won''t play him, however, who out of our own players (owned assets) is real good quality?

Not many I would suggest, which tally''s well with our league position at present.

No one is keen on a team full of loan players but the alternative (to the bit highlighted) is to have hung on to some of the dead wood from last season as a back up to cover injuries and suspensions.

Like it or not GR is trying to give us options for every position that are better than we had last year.

So  I am 23 yr old and been offered a loan with Norwich. Would I go?

1) They have no flat to offer me

2) I once had a week in the rain with my parents on the Broads

3) The team is near the bottom of the league

4) The Manager has a poor reputation for man management

5) The fans on the Message Board seem to slag off most of the Players

6)I dont have much chance of getting home to London/Merseyside/North East/Scotland on a Sunday because of distance/road congestion/train services

7) The money is not brillient

8) The people all have a "funny" acent which is hard to understand

9) The beer is flat

No I think that if I have to go out on loan I will go elsewhere..........................................

But there must be some positives?

1) Easy to get to Amsterdam

2) Long blue skies

3) Sandy beaches

4) erm, erm, erm..................

Yes I think I will go elsewhere.

No mention of Norwich though. I think he used some creative license there although I have to say, in some cases, I agree.

Thanks for tracking it down. This is the problem on this Message Board, people moan about the likes of Doncaster and his spin but this Forum is no better for bending the truth. Whether that is through downright stupidity or maliciousness I don''t know.

So  I am 23 yr old and been offered a loan with Norwich. Would I go? ( I know they have farmers but do they have girls there?) ....again??????? This is key.

1) They have no flat to offer me ( but my clothes are usually wrinkled anyway so no problem )

2) I once had a week in the rain with my parents on the Broads ( it was perverted and disgusting...from now on I''m just going solo )

3) The team is near the bottom of the league ( so I''d probably have to play every week, which means I could get injured. I don''t like the sound of that. )

4) The Manager has a poor reputation for man management ( whereas I''m only a lad so should be no problem )

5) The fans on the Message Board seem to slag off most of the Players ( as well as the manager, the owners, the Lord Mayor and Mother Theresa when she was alive )

6)I dont have much chance of getting home to London/Merseyside/North East/Scotland on a Sunday because of distance/road congestion/train services ( but I understand they have horse trails that connect eventually to the M1, so all is not lost )

7) The money is not brillient ( someone told me they pay you  "in potatoes" )

8) The people all have a "funny" acent which is hard to understand ( but the players are usually from somewhere else too so there will be someone I can communicate with)

9) The beer is flat ( but I understand they make good liquor at the farms )

No I think that if I have to go out on loan I will go elsewhere.......................................... ( ANYWHERE!!!!)

But there must be some positives?

1) Easy to get to Amsterdam ( Where you''re competing for girls with all the Norfolk farmers )

2) Long blue skies ( about two minutes long )

3) Sandy beaches ( filled with tons and tons of cockle shells )

4) erm, erm, erm..................

Yes I think I will go elsewhere. ( ANYWHERE BUT THERE!!!! )

In a perfect world this would be a good plan but GR cant guarantee he''ll be able to keep the 3-4 players he signs every summer, permanent players will always come and go for different reasons. So GR could find himself needing more than 3 to 4 signings every summer, my estimate to get a team of permanent would be closer to 6-7 signings every summer seeing as we have so few of our own. Whats happens when the money for loan players runs out? let''s face it the club arent financing the Lita deal.

So  I am 23 yr old and been offered a loan with Norwich. Would I go?

1) They have no flat to offer me  You can live at De Vere Dunston Hall with the rest of the team

2) I once had a week in the rain with my parents on the Broads You can spend time at Mercy''s

3) The team is near the bottom of the league They are consistent and will ping -pong around  there all season

4) The Manager has a poor reputation for man management He won''t be there forever

5) The fans on the Message Board seem to slag off most of the Players Nobody takes any notice of them -get yourself a new BMW X5 with black windows-only read the matchday programme, no criticism there

6)I dont have much chance of getting home to London/Merseyside/North East/Scotland on a Sunday because of distance/road congestion/train services see 5 above -share petrol costs with others who travel back and forth -particularly those who aren''t allowed to drive

7) The money is not brillient but it''s a lot more than their supporters can ever dream of earning and you can use it to buy some spelling books

8) The people all have a "funny" acent which is hard to understand just say  squit now and again and they will take to you-try not to speak to individual supporters , anyway they''ve been restricted  from Colney

9) The beer is flat drink cocktails and lager

No I think that if I have to go out on loan I will go elsewhere.........good family club....with renowned catering.............................

But there must be some positives?

1) Easy to get to Amsterdam

2) Long blue skies

3) Sandy beaches

4) erm, erm, erm..................

Yes I think I will go elsewhere

Of course Bobert, NCFC don`t have a proud history of attracting top young talent (or still-classy older stars) and generally struggle in the lower leagues having to rely on beefy farm-hands.  I mean, the way people go on anyone would think the club had spent the majority of the 80`s and 90`s in the highest league in English football!  In our impossible position i don`t see why they don`t just wind the club up and grow profitable potatos instead.......[8-)]
And look where both City and Forest are in the league, coincidence?
Yep, loanees destroy clubs. It is remarkably obvious. We should have no more than 5 loans during a season.
