USA Canary 7 Posted August 20, 2004 Will Doherty play tomorrow? If so, I wonder who he will replace. If he plays in defense, my guess would be to replace Charlton rather than Fleming. I would definitely keep Fleming in...Doherty sounds like an eventual partner for him, however, I wouldn''t play him until they have had some time to work together in training sessions...especially at Old Trafford.You can afford to rush it if he was playing up front in an attacking role because the risks are less. But a defensive unit has to be solid and finely tuned to be effective and I don''t believe Doherty should be rushed into playing there. I think Worthy will play him upfront tomorrow, if he plays at all (probably from the bench). He has been quoted to say that although he was signed as a defender, there is the option to play him upfront is certain situations.
