Trent Canary 0 Posted October 25, 2008 A great end to a frankly terrible game. Someone must have been smiling down on us today as were awful, but a wins a win, these scrappy wins make the difference between top half and bottom half. But anyway...Marshall - 6 - Dealt with crosses well, kicking was poor again. Too many long balls that ended up in the laps of the Doncaster defence.Bertrand -5 - Thought he had a poor game. Poor distribution and got beaten a couple times.Doc - 8 - Very good game. As I said on tuesday, he just deals with the long balls (And there were several today). And with a stupid free-kick count of one, that brings his average down big time! Good in the air, and surprisingly accurate on the ground.Stefanovic - 6/7 - Looked comfortable, and played it well on the floor. Not sure about the penalty as I havent seen a replay, but as a defender you have to be so careful in the situation he found himself in. Either way he got out-paced so it has to go down as his error.Suzi - 6 - Not much of note to be honest. Distribution was pretty poor, but tackled well.Clingan - 6 - Not his best game. Spread the ball around well, switching the side of attack. But gave away posession a few times, and didnt do much else of note.Russell - 6 - Again a relatively anonymous game. Still isnt getting into the box enough as I would like him too (Infact Doncasters goal came from a Sibierski knock down into the middle of the box that no norwich player was anywhere near. One long ball later and we are one-nil down. Was the sort of knock-down Francis would have lapped up) And the one time he was in the right place at the right time for a cut-back from Croft in the first minute he completely mis-kicked it!Hoolahan - 6/7 - Fantastic in the first thirty minutes, some great touches. Faded as the game went on though. Lost posession in dangerous areas once or twice.Croft - 5/6 - Poor game. Crossing was pretty bad other than a cut back for Russell in the first minute. Doesnt look to receive the ball behind the defender, im sure many noticed Hoolahan waiting for him latch onto a through ball, croft just sat there on the wing and it went out for a throw in, with Wesley throwing his arms down in frustration. Not sure why the fans booed the decision to take him off.Sibs - 5/8 - 5 for the first 75 minutes, frankly he did nothing. However you cant argue with a goal, and the flick on for the winner, so gets an 8 for his part in the comeback!Lita - 8 - MOTM - Ran his socks off, and whenever he received a long ball he held it up well and retained possession. Took the goal very well, think it was his only chance so good on him.Subs- Bell - 7 - Three or four fantastic crosses. Doesnt seem to beat the man, but can still put in a peach of a ball. Kennedy was solid, Cureton I didnt notice.Fans - AFter the 5-2 I was expecting a lot more. Barely made a noise in the second half, and throughout the game we were outsung by Donny. Strangely booed the decision to take off croft.General - We got lucky, but after 5-2 the win is what counts. We knocked the ball around well, with little penetration in the final third. Croft needs to learn to run in behind the defence, and I think Russell needs to get himself into better positions around the box. However Doncaster were only ever here for a point, so was always going to be tough. But anyway two wins in a row, a long way to go. We shouldnt get carried away, but its better than we were a week ago!

kdncfc 0 Posted October 25, 2008 I agree with London canarys ratings except I''d give Russell a 4, from the first few minutes when he miskicked a decent chance on the edge of the box he just wasn''t at it today. I didn''t think we were that bad in the first half and probably just about shaded it, we allowed them to boss the first 30 minutes of the second half but came good in the last 15 minutes. I thought a draw would have been a fair result but how many times have we not got what we deserved?

Mister Chops 7 Posted October 25, 2008 Marshall - 5 - not much to do, but why did he stay back on his line and make Stefanovic play the ball which ended up in a nonsensical penalty?Bertrand - 5 - poor, didn''t take his man on or beat him once, seemed a bit lost with Hoolahan AWOL most of the timeDoc - 6 - decent game, cleared several crosses and could have scored with a header, substitution was a bit mystifyingStefanovic - 6 - made a mince of the penalty which wasn''t, other than that was secure and played the ball out of defence reasonably wellOmosuzi - 6 - didn''t really notice him which on today''s display is a complimentHoolahan - 5.5 - trying too hard too often, frustration showed in his playRussell - 5.5 - worked hard but allowed Donny to dictate the tempo and terms of the midfieldClingan - 5.5 - as RussellCroft - 5 - poor today, did virtually nothing bar a layoff for a Russell air kickSibierski - 6.5 - MOM - playing in an unnatural role as target man, put himself about, threw himself at the equaliser and laid off the winner nicelyLita - 6.5 - took the final chance of the game well, ran and ran for 90 minutesSubs:Kennedy - 5.5 - looked less capable alongside Stef than the Doc - didn''t think I''d be saying that.Bell - 6.5 - looked tidy and composedCureton - 5 - didn''t notice him much, same can be said for the scorers. Jimbo_Jet_Set 0 Posted October 25, 2008 I think you are being incredibly generous with your marks. It was a pretty dire game of football and too many of our players looked lacklustre and off colour today. Doncaster deserved a point but it is noce to win when you don''t play at all well.My marks today:Marshall - 6 - Nothing much to but still looks shaky when kicking the ball from the floorOmosuzi- 7 - I actually thought he was our best player in a woeful first half. Didn''t do anything wrong.Doherty- 6 - He must have been injured because he was OK.Stefanovic- 4 - Dreadful. Got caught out of position too many times, was out muscled for the penalty and seemed to miscontrol every time he touched it. I like him but today he wasn''t with it.Bertrand- 5 - Defended ok, but was poor going forward. He seems to freeze when he gets across the halfway line.Croft- 5 - Same old story. Ran and worked hard, but made no impact in the final third of the pitch where we need him to.Clingan- 6 - Worst game i''ve seen him have for us. Was second to the ball too many times and passed poorly.Russell- 3 - Awful. Gave the team nothing either in attack or defence. He just seemed to amble around the pitch.Hoolahan- 5 - Tried his best but overplayed the ball. On tuesday he kept it simple, today he was guilty of over elaboration.Sibierski- 6 - I would give him 4 for his first anonymous 75 mins and then 8 when he woke up in the last 15. The header for his goal was sublime but he needs to impact the game further up the field. He must get in and around the box more to be effective.Lita - 8 - I thought he was excellent. His touch was good and he never stopped running and chasing. He could teach Sib a lot about getting your body between the ball and the defender. He would have been my MOM even without the brilliant last minute finish.Subs:Kennedy - 6 - SolidBell - 6 - Some nice touches.Cureton - 5 - No real impact, but he only had 10 mins
Canary Lad 0 Posted October 25, 2008 Im sorry London canary, but Clingans passing was crap, as bad if not worse than fozzy
Reckoner 0 Posted October 25, 2008 A pretty terrible game of Football, i was falling asleep for most of the game, i think them scoring was good for us, gave us a kick up the backside.Marshall - 6 - Not much to do, never looks confident.Omosuzi - 7 - Thought he was one of our better players, solid defensively and got forwards a bit too.Doherty - 7 - Another solid performance from The Doc, not the biggest fan of him, but he has been awesome the last 2 games.Stefanovic - 7 - I thought he was very solid at the back today, couldn''t really see the penalty incident.Bertrand - 5 - One of the poorest games i''ve seen him play in our colours, looked shaky and distribution was very poor.Croft - 6 - Played ok, but went back to his usual self of head down, run towards the corner, poor cross.Clingan - 5 - Once again, worst performance i''ve seen by him for Norwich, gave the ball away too many times.Russell - 5 - Poor performance, not for what he did do but for what he didn''t do, which was anything. Our central midfield was non-existant today.Hoolahan - 7.5 - I thought he showed a glimpse of what he can deliver today, skinning defenders, running at the defence, the only thing missing was the final product. The final pass was always misplaced, after getting into a good position.Sibierski - 7 - Would have been a 6 but for the last 15 minutes, but to be fair he did win a lot more headers today than other matches, and also managed to stay on his feet a bit more.Lita - 7.5 - Worked hard, chased down defenders, took his goal superbly.SubsKennedy - 6 - Doherty looked better to be honest.Bell - 6.5 - Some good crosses to cap a promising performance.Cureton - 5 - Not enough time to evaluate fairly. All in all a poor performance but hey, lets take the positives; we played badly but still won, which is what we need to do to do well in this league. Hooleyfan 0 Posted October 25, 2008 Not going to go through the whole lot but will mark just a few...Doc 7 - agree with others, he had a good game, felt sorry for him when substituted...he even had a header on target!Hoolahan 6 (fading to 4/5 second half) - for all his close skills and energy he fails to take on that final ball, he gets in and around the box enough but seems to lack the confidence to get shots off, would rather lay it off to another...had a great chance late in the second half to go all the way but put a weak ball through to the ''sleeping'' Bertrand and nothing came of it. he could be such a big hit with he crowd if he just stepped up to the mark a bit more.Bertrand 4 - absent for the most part, no imagination or confidence to get past his markers, several pathetic aimless headers trying hoist the ball back up field and losing possession, clearly not looking around him!Croft 5 - just didn''t make himself available for Marshall and just didn''t seem to have his usual energy, I suspect he was coasting on the back of adding to his goal tally earlier in the week.Lita 7 - kept running all afternoon and did his best to try and pick up Marshall''s incessant hoofs upfield...saved the afternoon with a well taken goal.My brother -in -law 10 - for actually staying right to the final whistle for once
sam 0 Posted October 26, 2008 Marshall 6 - Looked a bit iffy on crosses. A couple of dodgy pucnches and indesicion. Omosuzi 6 - A good defender but very ordinary in the opponents half.Doherty 7 - Another solid performance, dealt with everything and only gave away one silly free kick in a dangerous area.Stefanovic 5 - How he got MOM i will never know, his passing and distribution is awful and he gave away the penalty. Bertrand 5 - I still have yet to see him have a good game, his passing is terrible and he looked lost for the majority of the game. Croft 5 - His crossing as usual was pants and his effort once again had no end productRussell 5 - Poor game, his passing was a bit wayward and he was slow the whole game. Since he has been captain his performances have dipped significantlyClingan 5 - Inconsistent game. Some very good passes, some very bad passes. Hoolahan 7 - Lovely touches and control, his onyl problem is keeping possesion for too long in both halves of the pitch, particularly his own half. But his creativity and passing is great to watch. Sibierski 6 - Scored one and set up one. But nothing apart from that, was on his back side more that his feet, gets pushed over and bullied to easily. Lita 7 - Took his chance and worked pretty hard. Proving to be a very good signing.
Stevie Wonder 0 Posted October 26, 2008 Marshall 6 - Had little to do but made one good save and took a couple of catches. Be nice to see him save another penalty as he is getting plenty of practice at facing them!Omozusi 6 - Solid game. Not as good as Semmy going forward and passed up on a decent shooting chance in the 1st haflBertrand 5 - Poor, looked tired. If Drury is fit, I would be tempted to rest him for the Derby game.Doc 7 - Very solid. Can only assume he was injured?Stefanovic 7 - Was our best player 1st half when he rescued us on a couple of occasions and also provided the best 2 crosses of the half. Managed to get caught wrong side for the penalty and the challenge was somewhat clumsy.Russell 5 - Another game where I cannot recall him doing anything. He may be another in need of rest this week.Clingan 6 - Bit of a mixed bag. Some good distribution some poor.Croft 5 - Felt a bit sorry for him as he got very little service. I feel he works better when Semmy is at right back.Hoolahan 6 - Worked very hard, won the ball back on numerous occasions but also failed to find the final ball when well placed on several occasions.Sibierski 7 - Pants for 80 mins and class for the last 10. I guess that is what having that "premier" quality is all about!Lita 7 - Lots of running and commitment. Took his goal wonderfully well.SubsKennedy 6 - Solid.Bell 7 - Looks a class act. A couple of decent crosses.Curo - not on long enough to mark.Crowd 4/10 - No singing and lots of grumbling - mind you the game was shocking!Ref 3/10 - Seemed to have a 5 second time delay. Also booked are players but not Donny players for similar challenges. Roeder 6/10 - No complaints about the team selection. Subs were a touch strange but Doc may be injured. Bell for Croft worked and Curo for Hoolahan was the obvious substitution having gone a goal down. Interesting to see the selection for the next 2 games as we looked very weary yesterday - if the likes of Drury and Fozzie are fit I can a couple of changes for these games.
