time for city players to fight fire with fire???

Recommended Posts

hulse leaves his ''foot in'' in a bad late tackle imo -  and leaves poor semmy''s ankle ligaments fudged...a ''clumsy'' challenge from adebola crocks kennedy''s ankle on saturday...rusty is booked on saturday for dissent - why??? cos he''s getting roughed up by the huge bristol centre backs...sibs

tamed against derby by their 2 massive centre backs constantly barging

into his back when the ball was played upto him...against the same type

of players at bristol on sat he gets crocked by similar treatmenthas

word got around, that to quieten NCFC - just ''rough up'' the city

players???  should we be fighting back - cos it seems the refs are

letting a lot go this season???

you have got a point LGT.. we have been a team of pansies for years!

Where as we used to have a Gary Megson, Mike Milligan or a youssef Safri now we have no one.. back in the day if Meggo hit you you stayed hit... today if Pattison tackles you you get up, laugh, and dust the grass off your socks....

I have often said i''d be happy if we got 8 or 9 red cards a season and 50 or 60 yellow if it meant we won more games.. we need to get nasty....

jas :)

LGT - this is exactly what happens. Add to that Connolly''s cynical foul on Sibierski early on in the QPR game, Sibierski wasn''t the same after that,  and the resulting yellow card hardly compensated. Then there was that challege on Cureton almost as soon as he came on as substitute. I''m sure the lack of protection from the referee on Saturday was the reason Lupoli stayed on the bench. But the problem is Russell is not a striker, he doesn''t have a strikers vision, he''s a midfield player and putting him up front just gives a presence which is only nuisance value at best. Maybe Roeder needs to take a leaf out of Worthy''s book and start winding the pressure onto the officials in the days leading up to the games against the more physical sides.

The Championship/Divison One has always been a bit of a rough a tumble league and this is clearly used by some teams with little technical ability.  It was interesting to see how much more protection referees gave Hucks during our Premiership Season.

I think we badly need a Holt or Malky who can dish it out as well.  Having said that, I agree with Nutty Nigel, Reoder needs to start making it more of an issue before matches so that it is in the minds of officials.

Fantastic! I agree 100%, Can you remember when we were in the Prem league and Worthy called for the players to toughen up when we were playing Bolton. One of the best games I have seen for Norwich players getting stuck in with hard tackles! and we won the game

Good old days, remember them?

Come on lads show us ya metal even if you are loan stars.
