Rupethebear 0 Posted October 4, 2008 Just read my copy of the clubs annual report and it was interesting to see the actual cost of our summers transers was £400K.This includes buying Stefanovic, Hoolahan and Bell and selling Shackell. The report also shows how short of cash we are with turnover at £19M, (which includes tranfer fees received of over £3M) and costs at £24M and a debt of £18M. So a £5M shortfall. So there you have it, we can not survive without investment from Delia and Co and that is just to stand still. If we really want to mount a serious promotion bid we will need further investment as Delia can not be expected to bank roll everything. What this really means is that players wages have got to be reduced, by all clubs, and that is why Hucks was allowed to leave. So we are short of cash and we are probably one of the best supported clubs in the league, in reality if we were a proper business we would fold so people really should appreciate the work and investment Delia puts into Carrow Road, without it there would be no Carrow Road!! Mr.Carrow 376 Posted October 4, 2008 They don`t break down the overall wage bill this year for some reason, but as it is a bit lower than last year i think we can safely assume about £7m for player wages. Now factor in the £3.5m profit on selling players and you can see roughly how much the team cost last season. Player wages are not the problem, it`s just more deceitful spin.By the way, in `02 the club made a profit on £15m turnover and spent £5.2m on the team with no player sales. People should compare that with the situation now and ask themselves if the board have taken the club forwards or backwards.
