Paul Spector 0 Posted October 4, 2008 When we were successful in this league, the team was full of strong characters with good leadership. (ala Mackay, Fleming etc.) That is something we''re totally lacking now. I sat down to try and think of anyone in the squad with leadership skills that could inspire the team, but I literally cannot think of anyone.Fotheringham - possibly the best leader, but not good enough to be in the team and so doesn''t command the same respect.Stefanovic - New to the squad and has shown on a few occasions already that he has a bit of a "hot head"Russell - not a commanding player and doesn''t really have any noticeable leadership skills. The rest of the team is pretty much made up of loan players, so where is this captain going to come from. There really isn''t a stand out candidate. We seriously need somebody to step up to the plate and rally the troops. I really do feel that is the problem, and regretfully, I just can''t see who can fill that role.Any suggestions?
GJP 79 Posted October 4, 2008 Maybe Gary Doherty when he comes back? Never give less than 100% and would run through a brick wall for the cause.Might bring even more out of him as a player.
Sing Up The South Stand 0 Posted October 4, 2008 Well Stefanovic.Let''s hope when he''s back he keeps his mouth shut to the ref in future!
Paul Spector 0 Posted October 5, 2008 That isn''t the only instance of him losing it though! I personally though he should have seen red in at least one of the earlier games this season. Hardly a shining example.

Smudger 0 Posted October 5, 2008 Leadership comes from the top. When we have no leaders in the boardroom and a weak leader as a manager, then how the hell can we expect to have strong leaders on the pitch???
Paul Spector 0 Posted October 5, 2008 How is Roeder a week leader smudge? I don''t see why poor leadership in the board room stops a player grabbing the others and lifting them up in the dressing room. I must admit, I dislike John Terry, but you have to admire him as a leader. The same with Gerrard at Liverpool. They both love their clubs and lift all the players around them to play with that passion. Norwich lack that leadership on the pitch, and I don''t think it is a good enough excuse that our team is full of loans.
