Seem to have all played too much football manager and thus assume they know better than Glenn when it comes to managing our team. We could easily have lost this game today, had we played more expansively as some seem to want - sometimes away from home you''ve just got to accept a point and move on.

Its fine getting a point away from home PROVIDING you win nearly all your home games. Unfortunately we do not look like a side who are going to recreate fortress carrow road anymore.

dunno much about the game apart from what i ave been told thus far.. its still early however and better teams than us will go to Oakwell and come away with 0 points... HOWEVER, we need to beat teams like that if we harbour any real ambition...

its the likes of the Barnsleys and the Burnleys that we need to take points off....

jas :)

If you''re going to play 4-5-1 (which Roeder seemed to do for most of the game yesterday), you either need a strong midfield which can sit back and break up attacks, or a forward who can hold up the ball so that the team can counter attack quickly.  We have a squad capable of neither.

Quite simply Roeder was out thought yet again.

I''ve never played football manager but if i did i wouldn''t put a midfield player up front or take off my best player on the right wing and replace him with a player who only has a left foot. Also, i wouldn''t put a player of non-league standard in the centre of midfiel and make him captain.

Never played the game,  but a sending out a side without any creatiivity by fielding 5 defenders and 5 midfielders plus the keeper is not goingt o get you enough goals;  we created nothing and were lucky to gain a point.

As for being satisfied with that the manager insisted on Friday that a 1 pt a game away from home was not enough;  if we cant go to the bottom side in the league and at least look like gaining 3 points then even getting 23 points on our travels looks beyond us.

The mistakes from yesterday were mainly the left flank and up front.  We have two excellent specialist left backs in drury and betrand yet we opt to play grounds,  who was rightly ousted from the centre for the returning Stefanovic.  However a good game in the middle should not mean he should keep his place in the side at the expense of a dedicated positional expert;   first choice should have been bertrand who has looked excellent there and average in midfield. Its ok in an emergency but that was not what we had yest.  Instead we chose to push betrand into his less effective slot to accomodate not Drury,  who also palyed well against Utd, but another out of position player in grounds.  We comp[romised our left flank for grounds.

As far as the strikers are concerned Russell is no striker;  he does not move like one nor demonstrate he wants to play there - he looks awkward and clearlyout of position.  We have a selection of strikers at the club that this manager has signed;  if he does not fancy them then his scouting/judgement is faulty if he still prefers russell ahead of lupoli (not injured but dropped I understand) jamie or OJ.  Sibi looks as unimpressive as Russell.   He has to give the strikers pitch time;  and get his best players on the pitch.

For me this is not FM nonsense,  just common sense;  get back to basics as worthy say and pick players for our stengths

Ots   Stef   Omo   Betrand

Chad   Pattison   Russell   Hoolahan

        Sibi      OJ

Give us some pace and strength with balance across the team..  try it roeder you may be surprised...
