Who's our new hero?

Recommended Posts

I do believe that Mr Roeder said, after he tried to explain the departure of Hucks, that we would be getting a new player to replace him who was much younger, faster and would become our new hero.

Has anyone heard when this player will be arriving?
yeah - well maybe we could''ve done with hucks wed nite - i remember his performance against qpr just 6 months ago - especially his surging right wing run into the box and beyond the last defender, before deliberatelylooking up andpulling the ball back into the path of curo - who gratefully struck the ball though an open barn door!!!oh yeah - those were the days...hang on - cue the ''time to move on'' merchants...but seriously, the boy hooley is a goodun - and will show his true form and consistently in time - but can he ever match the hero cult status hucks enjoyed??? only, if by some miracle - he comes alive and produces match winning perfromances regulary that gets us into the top 6 this season or next><?  but being fair to hooley - hucks is one hell of an act to follow!!!
lol not that I know of!!  The picture is one off the Huckerby thread - There the shirts that Huck''s sent Pete, I presume that''s Pete''s front room.  He''s now going to set-up a competition to give them away.  Hopefully one of the competitions will be ''first to spot Pete''s front room wins a Huck''s shirt'' in which case I win!!!  [<:o)]
Maybe we could resign him in the January transfer window - on loan of course......
we can loan him from November cant we?

the new hero clearly isnt Hoolahan,.. at least Wes was a fairly low financial outlay... but the disapointment still hurts after i was one of the people who bigged him up in the summer

jas :)

.....''OUR''.....Is that a player that belongs to us? Not many to choose from in ''our'' first team squad.

How about "Who''s our new zero?".....instead.

Fatal Attraction was shown on the telly again the other night and hey presto Darren''s very own norfolk bunny boiler appears on the board again.

Given a straight choice between Lupoli and Huckerby I''d go for Lupoli myself[:|] but if you don''t want him you can send him on loan to Colchester for the rest of the season.

That said, I''m often wrong.

Talking about America and getting things wrong, here is a good example:

"Lehman Brothers is a great company today that can both look backwards with pride and look forwards with hope.  And in wishing Lehman Brothers the success it deserves for its future, let me thank you for the privilege of being here and formally declare this new building open."

On the occasion of the formal opening of their new headquarters at 25 Bank Street, Canary Wharf, London E1 April 5 2004.

Speaker: Gordon Brown, also predicted, briefly, to be a new hero after veteran Antonio Blairo was released at the end of the season and was immediately snapped up by Atletico MiddleEast Babes FC, has so far failed to impress.

Blairo said last night: "It''s a new career for me but there''s no way I''ll ever forget SpartakNuLabour as they are a part of my life and I wouldn''t want to play against them - in fact, I couldn''t but I will come back and watch Gordon and his team whenever I possibly can."

Brown, left struggling with a loss of form and an inability to put away chances, was dealt a further blow when a former Chairman of the Supporters Club Charles Clarke said: "If that''s a Prime Minister, I''m a former completely socialist man of the people Head Boy at Highgate School."

(Subs: blob on the end please)

. Highgate School Annual day fees: £11,820 - £13,635.

Unfortunately that promise was made when Glenn thought he still had a summer transfer budget.

So consider it de facto cancelled![:S]

One love.

Lupoli?
if he scores and wins the game today, maybe!!!
or, lowering the bar - if he can last the full 90mins!!!
He''s scored three goals by mid-September. How many did St. Hucks manage last year?Loved the guy when he was here, probably the most exciting player I''ve ever seen in a City shirt, but Lupoli has huge potential.

Surely the new investor who can convert any new heroes on loan into our very own players. Roeder may have been a bit more cryptic than any of you give him credit for.

They are both cretive players who can score goals, ''game breakers'' if you will, so even though they do not play in the same position I think the comparison is valid. From what I''ve seen from Lupoli so far I think most fans will consider him ''our new hero'' by the and of the season and although that may not have been what CA was getting at GR mentioned new heroes, not a like for like Hucks replacement. As for Hoolahan, I would agree that he has been disappointing thus far. I''d imagine it''s a fairly big step up to go from playing for Blackpool to playing in front of 25,000 people at home and maybe he''s taking time to settle. I think he will come good given time but I notice there are a few on here writing him off already so once that gets magnified and transfers to the ground he''ll probably be finished as a City player by Christmas! Would Hucks have done more than him? Quite possibly but we''ll never know how well his hip would have held up to the constant physical batterings of The Championship. He seems to be thriving in the MLS precisely because of the less physical nature of the game out there.

So, in some people''s eyes after 6-7 games Hoolahan is a failure?  Well that''s nice and supportive!  It''s been said many times before, but Iwan certainly was a hero in the end but not for the first season!

When we''ve played 30 odd games, or more fairly finish the season is if we can tell if we''ve got a new hero with someone or not.  Norwich fans can''t be like that.

Get on their back straight away yet expect miracle performances?

I think Hoolahan will get there.
