Stadium manager

Recommended Posts

He has been made redundant i am led to believe. Redundancies ARE happening at Carrow Road now in order to trim the wage bill.

Head of Catering too has moved to Delia''s own company.

The timing of this news release was meant to bury it with all of the reports of the match tonight and tomorrow.

Doncaster is scything his way through the high earners. This is partly why all of the backroom staff may have been shown the door also.

One dodgy win in seven and we can''t score goals, how many points have we picked up over the last 25 games? - the stadium manager had to go, if I was GR I would re-sack Neil Adams after this display!

One of the highest earners is still there though - Doomcaster! Its all about ROI - return on investment. Hes not providing a good return as the club under his stewardship is in terminal decline on and off the pitch!

You are indeed, correct. Of course he now heads up all of the following departments;

Operations, Catering, Sales and Marketing, Stadium and Roeder reports to him on Football!

Power Corrupts - Absolute Power Corrupts Absolutely!

At the end of the day, nobody here REALLY cares about the blinkin stadium manager. You''re all just using it as an excuse to have another go at the club.

I don''t think there is a risk of administration in the short term but if the club fail to find a buyer I can''t see the directors continuing to subsidise the club indefinitely because they aren''t rich enough. We will however be in trouble in the new year if a buyer isn''t found.

I can''t believe anyone said why care about the Stadium Manager?

If you go to Carrow Road he influences everything that happens to you off the pitch.

Although I didn''t particularly like him because of his attitude over some stewarding issues, he did the job really well and the Club has moved forward with him.

It is clearly cost cutting as his number two has been retained with a new title, and he was visibly upset when I saw him the other day.

If there is no new investment then we are closer to Administration than I would want to consider.

My understanding is that the Stadium manager and his deputy was being merged into one post which obviously smacks of cost cutting and was told that he would have to re-apply for his position which is common practise. However he chose to spit his dummy out of the pram and was escorted out of the premises.

Now i will admit to not being Mr Blackburn''s no1 fan but this situation behind the scenes is worrying. Two directors gone,Andy Cullen,Shaun O''Hara,Leon Blackburn.By all accounts morale in the offices at CR is at an all time low.

we have no need for  2 stadium operations managers, assistant or otherwise. many years ago the club had a group of good stewards (lets call them DA, JA, RG, RB, CE, JA) but eventually as they drifted away, disillusioned with stadium operation managers amongst other things, a number 2 was appointed because those afformentioned senior stewards had all left.Leon is a funny bugger, and I would suggest the new man Mr Battley aint much better, just a cheaper option.

I think you''ve hit the nail on the head when you say that Mr Battley is just a cheaper option - hence the reason I believe Mr Blackburn may have decided to leave. Mr Battleys old role, which ''DA'' used to do part time (on Matchdays) was made a fulltime position a few years ago. Now from what I understand Mr Battley will take Mr Blackburns position and someone else (lets call him JP) will take up his old position but only on a matchday as it used to be.

What people don''t understand is the hard work and effort that these people put in to doing their job (even if it is only on a Matchday). They have to train and take exams to gain GNVQ''s so that the 25,000 people in the stadium can watch a game of football with as few problems as possible.

Indeed Camul!  Wait til there are over 3.5 million unemployed.  When there''s no money coming in the crowds will soon start to dwindle.  Then I fear we will see how many clubs really are close to administration. Start getting the candles in !

Someone should sort out the Scoreboard Operator who put up Norwich 1 - QPR 0 promptly after Rowlands scored.

Wheres our priorities gone?!

Yes, your eyes didnt lie, and it provided myself and my mate with light humour in the gloom of their post-goal celebration.
