For all your kind messages and ''get well'' emails, each one has really helped me back on the long road to recovery. Okay, I ain''t there just yet, but the potions and extra helpings of local virgins is helping with my physic levels recharge!.

And it would seem that I''ve missed all the excitment while I''e been away.....The show ponies, the Turners, jacking it in (did they rattle the queens ego? or were they pushed or ended up discouraged?) and are we in the death throws of Smiths reign?.

To that I must say I bloody well hope so!

Welcome back Wiz!  Hasn''t been the same on here without you!  Hope you''re feeling better, you''d better lay off the alchemy for a while, we''re not that desperate (oh yes we are . . .)

The Turners.  This is what happened as I recall.  First, a couple of posters came on here and said there''d been a HUGE bust up in the boardroom but not what it was about.  Most of us took it with a pinch of salt, but a day or two later Chairman Munby was wheeled out to announce that the Turners had in fact left the board two weeks earlier.  When asked why he said "I don''t know" and whether there had been a falling out he said "I am not aware of it".  He also said they were pursuing "more than one investor" but not whether it was to plug the gap left by the Turners or something more.

The Turners were due to put in another £1.5m which now won''t happen but the £2.5m they have already loaned the club is staying where it is.  A few days later D&M announced they would be loaning the club another £2m to cover a projected deficit.  It is unclear whether this is instead of or as well as the Turners'' loan, ie. how big is the deficit and what''s the cause?  As usual, no explanation for the things we really want to know.

As to the reason for the Turners'' departure, speculation ranges from feeling the pinch due to the credit crunch, to feeling used by D&M to dripfeed investment into the club to keep Peter Cullum at bay.  Again, we''re none the wiser.

Also plenty more speculation about whether PC will now take over.  He''s been quoted as saying that the door''s always open but after two failed attempts the onus is on the club to make the first move this time.  Conflicting reports as to whether contact has in fact been made, but as of last weekend probably not. 

Hope that''s a reasonably fair and comprehensive summary.
