Norwich City, A feeder Club

Recommended Posts

As of 12 0''clock last night the summer transfer window is officially shut and looking at the full list of singings we have made it''s an all too familiar stroy at NCFC, very few perm sigings, mainly temporary loan signings instead.

1. Henville - Season (squad)
2. Koroma - Season (squad)
3. Grounds - 3 months? (squad)
4. Sibierski - 3 months (1st Team)
5. Lupoli - Season (1st team)
6. Kennedy - 3 Months (1st team)
7. Bertrand - Season (1st team)
8. Omozusi - Season (1st team)

While some of these players may actually do a decent job for us at City this season, they are all only temporary solutions just like last season. Although it''s now clear as crystal that we don''t have nearly enough funds to own a decent squad with our own players, so we have no choice but to rely on loan signings, what happens when these loan signings return back to their clubs?.. We sign new loan players of course. You can''t help but fear that we will continue to go round in these circles untill we either find new investment from elsewhere or gain promotion to the premiership, and yets face it the latter isn''t exactly all that likely right now.

Ched Evans is a prime example of what we will come to expect from this club over the next few years, that''s the biggest problem with being a feeder club. How many times have you heard Premiership managers say Norwich is a great place for their players to gain experience?.... That''s exactly what feeder clubs do, give bigger clubs than ourself the chance to give players who aren''t ready for the first team the chance to play regular competitive football.

Not faulting Glen Roeder one bit here but it''s now completely evident that we are in great need of change at our board, anyne who doesn''t think so should look at Leeds who were once a typical feeder club who relied on loan signings to keep them afloat in the Championship, but eventually the inevitable happend.

Maybe but the sad part is that the bigger impact they have with us this season, the less chance we have of signing them on a perm next season, if they make hardly any impact on us this season then sure there could be a good chance we could sign them on a perm, but what would be the point?

I hink Lupoli could be Ched Evans all over again, the sadest part is that we are relying on these loan players to just keep us afloat in this league because although it''s still early days,  that''s all I can see our current squad doing this season, and if/when they go back to their clubs next season the strugle begins again in where Roeder has to work his magic in finding good loan players just to keep us afloat in this league next season. When will it end?

Surely it''s better to see good players than the crap we previously had to suffer? I''m talking about Murray, Hughes, that bloke from Wigan (not Siberski) who played a couple of games etc.

The more loans they merrier. They are better players than we could possibly attract with a Colaship budget and if they gel? Who knows. Yes we may get a new team every year...But we are getting better players.

Feeder club? We are getting the benefit from the loans. We could never afford Bertrand or Lupoli. Few in this league could!
