Recommended Posts
most embarassing thing I have ever seen on the back of a city shirt I saw today on the way to the ground. Some bloke, in his infinite wisdom, had seen fit to have "delia cooks on gas" on the back of his shirt. I kid you not.
I saw this shirt as well whilst walking towards the ground.
"Delia cooks the books" would be an interesting way to get a black eye or two.
How about a mixture then ? CliruspatellStick out tongue [:P]

I''ll get my coat......

Out of all them I''d go for Russell.
Why not rearrange the letters and have CLLITRUSLEAP, know the spelling is incorrect, but just say it fast.[:D]

I saw the "Delia cooks on Gas" shirt yesterday, I did wonder what on earth he had that for. And C.T come on Hucks has gone, and Stefanovic is clearly our new best player, a number isn''t everything!

As we''re all finding money a bit tight right now, CT ( i am NOT 1st Wiz ) , I''d suggest you wait until '' new target man '' arrives.

Should save yourself a small fortune as he probably never will........

Seems Strange no one has Mentioned Donkerty. But I make it a habbit not to have players names on my shirt for two reasons

1 They always leave,

1 I''m an Authdox tightars

From what I hear, Stefo would be a good option... a mate of mine said yesterday that he and Kennedy could turn out to be our best centre back pairing in his 30 years on this Earth! Maybe he''d been on the ale but sounds good to me!

Certainly the best we''ve had for some time, and I don''t think Kennedy is more than 80% match sharp yet.Dejan looked so cool on Saturday.Great reader of the game and certainly enjoys a crunching tackle or two! He''s also totally in charge judging by some of the bollockings he was issuing!

personally i wouldnt get sibs as he only got 18months in him most likely

wouldnt get clingan as he cack and wont be in your 1st team in 12months time, he squad player at best at this level especially if you want to progress

pattison - cant comment as dont know him well enough

russell - smart choice in my opinion

On the subject of names on shirts on what basis do people choose players? I choose on

a) whos my favourite (that narrows it down to about 6!)

b) then from the above i narrow it down to who plays in my position of midfield so i guess that rules out Sibierski

remove sibierski from the above list so its

clingan, russell, pattison or bell (havent seen bell play yet)

If cost bothers you then perhaps Bell is a good idea!

go with a player you can see staying a long period of time with the club.....i would think russell is most stable and probably the best player on the list. but im guessing here does everyone have russell? im guessing he is one more popular shirt names.

don''t agree at all with that, Clingan has been impressive in his first few games and was superb at Forest last season, also he''s proved what a good player he is at international level for NI

what are you basing your opinion on? you can''t say from his time at Wolves because he wasn''t given a chance and didn''t play a competitive game

Sibs retiring in 18 months won''t really matter as the shirt will be out of date by then anyway.

"Delia cooks socks in Hull". (Only makes sense if you''ve seen The Omen)

I never have had names on any of my shirts in over 20 years supporting NCFC, can''t see the point personally.  I see quite a few fans with their own names and a special number or date, which I think is a good idea.
