moobag 0 Posted August 30, 2004 Do ref''s have to declare which club they support?I know this is prolly a really silly question but i wondered if anybody knows the rules.Did Mr Poll declare his love of Arsenal?
Pyro Pete 1,889 Posted August 31, 2004 It''s funny you mention that because I''ve just been looking at a website that sells football t-shirts. And would you believe it, there on the Arsenal page is a "Graham Poll Fan Club " T-shirt in red!http://shop.football.co.uk/store/comersus_viewItem.asp?idProduct=1171I may go for this Ginger Pele t-shirt however:http://shop.football.co.uk/store/comersus_viewItem.asp?idProduct=1062Fans who visit Highbury may want this one though:http://shop.football.co.uk/store/comersus_viewItem.asp?idProduct=
jimbi jones jimbo 0 Posted August 31, 2004 as far as i understand, refs are asked prior to the season if there are any games that they do not wish to referee..
DumbleDelia is Magic 0 Posted August 31, 2004 As a referee I very much doubt you are allowed to support a team! I''ve never heard of a ref not being able to ref a club because he supports them! Also, if Graham Poll supported a team (eg Arsenal) clubs like Man Utd, Chelsea etc would complain when he reffed them because he might have an ulterior motive! No, ref''s wouldn''t be allowed to support clubsKeep the faith
knowhatimean 0 Posted August 31, 2004 Refs do not cheat - they just don''t see everything!!OTBC
shortfatb 0 Posted August 31, 2004 I think it''s less about who Graham Poll supports, for me it''s his bombastic, self-promoting demeanour and his unapologetic and unconcerned approach to explaining a cock-up which nobody can prove beyond doubt did not take points from us. I believe that unlike some referees who are being praised for appearing in front of the camera, Mr. Poll craves every chance to be seen. I can imagine him ringing his missus saying, "did you see me, did I look masterful?" No, you looked like a pompous *********er!
Pyro Pete 1,889 Posted August 31, 2004 I see we weren''t the only team shafted by a referee at the weekend either. In the Blackburn/Man Utd game Fergie got an extra minute added to injury time, Saha handballs and Smith duly equalises with 20 seconds remaining. Shocking. Then there''s Villa v Newcastle where Sorrenson makes a save with his hands outside the area and only gets a yellow card! What is wrong with these ref''s?
