Wes Hoolahan and Paul McVeigh in his prime

Recommended Posts

It seems to me that Hoolahan is a similar sort to Paul Mcveigh at his best.  As people will remember Mcveigh always played best on the left like Hoolahan.  Like Hoolahan he was never lightning quick, but had quick feet and used the ball well.

Anyone else thought of this comparsion or am I way of the mark?

[/quote]mcveigh was clever, tricky and in his prime was a real headache for the average full back...probably good comparison there JK - but mcveigh also weighed in with some great goals - he scored some real corkers as i recall...

If Hoolahan ever reaches the level McVeigh did in his prime for us then he is a great signing.(I have to say that I wanted us to sign Hoolahan in the summer last year, he really impressed me in the play-offs for blackpool and I saw him as a new McVeigh, so I''d say very good call with this thread)
