rich69snake 0 Posted August 15, 2008 There is a lot of strikers that could be linked following a "good weekend" for their respective club.It just amazes me that this club has known since the moment king Dion left the pitch at hillsborough we needed a suitable replacement. Two games in two defeats, 0 goals, 1 cup exit no ambition. ZLF 271 Posted August 15, 2008 We have needed strikers since the beginning of last season; including a target man yet we struggled along all season with one out of form, one youngster learning the ropes and a seasoned pro who was past his best - and wondered why we failed to score enough goals to win games or points; yet most fans continued to demand defensive rather than striking signings. It beggars belief that a target man remains out of reach. If he doesnt start for stoke, and I know he is an ugly player, but would Sibide be an option? he know the league and is a physical presence - not sure of his age though. ca 1 Posted August 15, 2008
Bring Big Andy in and get iverson in the January transfer window. ricardo 7,349 Posted August 15, 2008
No positivity about Bishop here. If our most important signing turns out to be a £200,000 player who has never left the lower leagues then I will be pretty pi***d off. Time to splash some cash and at least bring some hope to us long-suffering fans.
I don''t think that even this lot would imagine we would be satisfied with a tin pot signing like Bishop.I that''s what it comes to then goodbye NCFC. Evil Monkey 52 Posted August 15, 2008 As I''ve said many times, people who have seen Bishop play in more thanthe one game last season will know how good a striker he is. Quality finisher, strong and athletic, he is the model target man we''relooking for. However... after years in the Conference atYork City, he''s still only in League 2 so its a big step up. Ifwe could get him for something like £500k and use him as back-up to anestablished and proven main target man, it would be a good bit ofbusiness....

The Canarie has found its wings! 0 Posted August 15, 2008 I live in york and have seen them play when cant get to norwich. Before Bury he was at york and i didnt rate him at all. Yes maybe a decent conference striker or lg 1+2. unless he has improved the goals we need are not gonna come from him.
The 12th Devine 0 Posted August 15, 2008 Sounds slightly more promising than an over the hill Iversen to me but this isn''t exactly the physical presence Roeder''s been talking about... ok, he''s six foot but he weights 10 stone 10lb... only slightly more than my granny and she hasn''t eaten since 1984. Still, if the price is right, he''s worth a go as, League 2 player he may be, he''s still scored a shedload during the past three seasons. Apparently goalscoring can become a habit, although on Tuesday night''s evidence it seems reasonable to assume our lot aren''t the compulsive types.

Camuldonum 0 Posted August 15, 2008 Look, we spoke to Bury this afternoon. The Girl Upstairs couldn''t get the press officer who was out collecting the programmes apparently (don''t these small clubs make you SICK!) and instead we got put through to the Club Secretary''s office. We put forward the suggestion that he might be joining Norwich and the quote was: "Really? Well, as it stands he was training this morning and I''m surprised the Manager hasn''t mentioned it?"Question this end: "So as far as you are concerned he will be playing for you on Saturday?"Answer: "I certainly hope so - Chesterfield will not be an easy game."There was one cheerful chap on a Shakers forum who claimed it was a straight swop for Delia Smith (which I assume would be an attractive package for some). Apparently the catering side is none too good at Bury and they are looking to "push on up the table" , as they say[*-)]
Camuldonum 0 Posted August 15, 2008 PS: The ref for Chesterfield v Bury is one Colin Webster who some of you seem to have rather taken to at Coventry.Small world, eh? [8-|]
Stevie Wonder 0 Posted August 15, 2008
Who? Seriously who is he, never heard of him
Not been a supporter for long then? He scored in both FA Cup games against us last year and for my money was one of the most impressive strikers I saw down at Carrow Road last season.
