I know a lot of users had error messages last night. It seems ok so far today but if anyone gets any errors please let me know.

Yeah it seems a lot more responsive today Pete, just a question, why haven''t you moved to a more reliable set up like Vbulletin or Invision?

Because they are PHP/MySQL based, whereas our servers are based around Microsoft products. Plus, they cost money...

And Microsoft with MSSQl server don''t? Come on.......Click the link to "Community server" at the bottom of the page and look at what they charge you can get a dual quad core server on PHP/MySQL for a grand a year all in

Perhaps thats why you have problems then, surely an old version will be a lot more buggy, and be a hindrance to the servers because it will not be optimised for newer technology.

Whilst we''re on the subject of forum problems, when will this multiple user name thing be sorted Pete, seem to remember you saying that people wont be able to change user names anymore soon.

Plus, they cost money...[/quote]To be fair, last time I looked, you had to pay quite a lot in terms of licensing for MS based server software - whereas Linux/MySQL/PHP/Apache would cost £0.00. Surely Archant must have a spare machine sitting around upon which they could install the neccessary?
