Reminise-All I want for christmas.....

Recommended Posts

Just been re reading Iwan Roberts splendid book, All I want for christmas....and was just thinking why the hell cant we have a season like that again. Its the eve of the big kick off, time to get excited. We had a good feeling here, not just at the club but the whole city. So many memorys from that season from sunderland away to Hucks signing before the forest game. Why cant we create that good vibe again? We didnt invest heavily that season either , I believe that we the fans built confidence at that club just like Iwan says in his book. So lets do all again, and get this club up! The Cullam thing has been gone and been discussed-im over it. Its a new season a new start. Lets start by tonking Coventry!

On the ball city-chamipionship winners 2008-2009?

I agree, I often pick up that book for a light read and recall the most happy period for me as a city fan.

Sadly, I was away at Uni a lot of the time and missed a lot of games and the vibe but whenever I came back I was always impressed (cardiff at home anyone?)

Infact we were in a good position untill I came back in 2005 and got a season ticket after relegation! Maybe I should leave town again..

Well said Arthur, but don''t forget that pre-season and first 6 games or

so the mood was probably worse than now! We''d missed out on the

play-offs that year and had a strike force of Neilsen, Abbey and a

certain Elvis Hammond on loan to go with.... Come September, things had

changed somewhat and it wasn''t really until then that the atmosphere

kicked off....

We''re going to need some time to "bed in" this season, and I hope the

fans allow us that, because if the pressure is off some of these

players could really push on for us... Maybe....[:)]

I like that book.  Basically it says in between drinking at Delaney''s, he managed to fit in some football.  Awesome chap.

It would be great to have another season like that, it just went beyond all expectation!!

The only problem is everytime I read All I Want For Christmas I find it hard not to smile at the number of times Iwan drops heavy hints for a coaching role at the club. Having said that he probably did deserve something!!! [:)]

And for a poster to call you a "little boy" when he''s had two childish threads deleted already today, I find that amazing.

I''m with you Arthur - CT is just criticising you because you made a positive statement - he doesn''t like these and has a go at anyone who makes them. Don''t take it personally. Most fans would back ths statement and will go for it on Saturday!

Says the person who posts to let us all know what time he goes out to play football, and what time he is going to bed ...

P.s: What threads did you get deleted then ...?

I have no idea if he retains a home in Norfolk but his current phone number is Gwynedd based.

He applied to be your Manager but Peter Grant got the job.

All he got was Neil Doncaster''s letter saying: "I am sorry but you have not been successful on this occasion."[:|]
