Houston Canary 0 Posted August 4, 2008 I did notice at one point Huckerby pointed to the stands and gave a little acknowledgement of somebody up there. Don''t know if it was these guys, but can''t imagine who else it would have been. Kind of hard to tell with the camera angles, but on TV it was to the left side in the 1st half in the LA end of the field, I think.

AndyJR 0 Posted August 4, 2008 An American supporters view on yesterdays game........ sonofapitch BigSoccer Member+  Join Date: Feb 2002 Club: S.J. Quakes, Celtic Location: Novato, CA Re: San Jose Earthquakes - Los Angeles Galaxy (Sunday, 8/3) in-game/postgame thread [R] I''m soooo bloody happy for the Quakes! What a fine showing today. My daughter, who has been a fan for years but hasn''t been following them close in the past couple of weeks was stunned by the renaissance our team has undergone in just the last 2-3 weeks since she last saw them! The are so f***in'' aggressive now!! I LOVE it!! To me, the big differences are that our midfield finally controls the ball, hence the game, and I applaud our forwards today. Sealy may have had some tough luck misses in the past couple of weeks but he''s looking really strong playing with his back to goal and he turns and shoots with some authority, which has REALLY been missing and I REALLY like from him! Arturo Alvarez! Welcome back. Damn, son!! What a way to debut. A mammoth goal in the first 4 minutes against the hated arch-rival?!? NIIIIIIICE!! I still remember his first professional goal with the Quakes (don''t recall the year) but it was a header vs. Dallas. I remember him running along the sidelines with an ear-to-ear smile, pointing to his head and mouthing to his teammates, "I did it with my head!" Arturo, your feet looked pretty damned good today, too! Welcome back. Huckerby.....Jesus, where do you start?!? What a difference maker! What is it now?...3 goals in 3 games?!? I am just SOOO happy to see the Quakes finally get a guy from abroad that was largely unknown in the States by all but the most avid footie fans that is on a pace to turn this league on its ear--like Carlos Ruiz did when he arrived. (Apologies, with all due respect, Norwich fans...we love your legendary son and welcome him, as well as your support, as he settles into his new "home"...though IMO Norwich will always be the true "home" in his heart. I do feel, however, that most of us in the States were not familiar with Hucks before his arrival. What a brilliant "surprise" he has been!!) With the obvious interest shown/expressed by the many Canary fans on this board in recent weeks, I kind of feel like SJ and Norwich are informal "sister cities" now. Because of your great showing of heart, Norwich fans, I am now throwing my support behind your side. Thank you, all. If the Quakes continue to play like this and can "steal" a win or 2 on the road along the way, I think they have a very legitimate shot at the post-season. No one is asserting themselves in the West (though my satellite is starting to see a heat bloom in the boiler of Houston.) C''mon, Quakes!!! You can do it!!! All we want is an invitation to the party!!! I think theres a nice relationship building between the two teams - awesome. [:D]

Scottlarock 3 Posted August 5, 2008
i don`t know about anyone else? but i felt a bit emotional watching that.
The whole San Jose thing has been emotional. It really puts a perspective on football being global - I personally have loved every minute of the ''Hucks amazing journey'' and I''m desperate for the geezer to do well. I can only equate the emotion to be like when you have kids and they leave home and you''re desperate of news and success for them (not that I''m that old). Stateside_G_ 0 Posted August 6, 2008 The guy in the Vid is me. I have been here in Cali for 6 years and to say it is bitter sweet to have the legend here is an understatement. I promise with the yellow and green heart that i will uphold the honour of all Narge Boys in the Barclay and beyond. The Pinkun wants me to post more vids of the man progress, so i will keep you all posted.I want to hook the guys up over here with any Narge stuff any of you might have spare, flags, scarfes, shirts etc, as they want to make the Buck Shaw stadium his yellow and green home away from home. The next game is on the 16th, so if you are willing, email me and i will make it happen.Shoot me an email if any are willing to help otbc2002@aol.comI will sing for one and all...Oh Huckerby.!!!!!!Amen
