James Kent 0 Posted July 23, 2008 Only a couple of weeks ago people were complaining about the lack of signings. Well with our sixth signings so far we are now the second most active team with only Derby signing more. There are still even a handful of clubs who have yet to sign a single player. InLambertWeTrust! 0 Posted July 23, 2008 People could argue that we need to HOWEVER most of the players we got rid of were failed youth players. Glenn Roeder is bringing in good players which is strengthening our squad. A back up keeper, central defender, Bell and Ameobi (or Drogba I wouldnt complain either way[:P]) and we''ll have a good squad.
TheCardinal 0 Posted July 23, 2008 It''s all about quality not quantity - and I think the players we''ve got are of good quality as well.
National express super guard 0 Posted July 23, 2008 roeder told us to be patient, he was right. told us we won''t recognise the team next year, right again. squad looks quite strong now. not championship winning, that takes time, but good outside shout for play offs

Firstly we have the newly relegated sides with the parachute money. Obviously you can add Watford and Charlton to that list. Then we have the likes of Wolves, QPR and Ipswich who can in theory spend what they like come Janurary. I agree our squad looks good, but we won''t know how good until the season starts. Also this team will need some time to gel and Cureton/Lupoli are not going instantly be on the same wavelength as Hoolahan, but hopefully the pre season games can help with that.
