According to the EDP, Stefanovic, Omozusi and Bell to sign today

Recommended Posts

Bell and Stefanovic should be in theory. Who knows with the other lad? He definitley seems like a Roeder type player.

Add a decent striker to that and I would be very happy for once! But with no new striker in place for the tour then the squad are going to struggle to gel imo

I''m sorry, why would a squad struggle to gel because of a lack of strikers?

The tour of Sweden is a two game tour and then they''re home for Spurs and Colchester. Plenty of time to get the players we need in.

We''ve had the last 2 months or so to get in the strikers we desparetely need and have failed to do so. Why are you so confident another 2 weeks will suddenly make all the difference!!

No surprise names there, but nice to know that Omozusi is as close to signing as Bell and Stefanovic. Anyone else agree that these three will be good signings?

Shows a total lack of ambition, one oap, one league two player from a bankrupt club and a child from Fulhams under 15''s big WOW

Because football is not about time. As shown in the article above, the Fulham deals have happened quickly - the Bell deal over 5/6 weeks. Roeder knows we need strikers and will no doubt have irons in the fire.

I don''t see why people are getting stressed about it.

Hopefully those players will sign today, would then like another centreback and then it has to be full steam ahead with signing forwards.  Still think that there is a chance with Ameobi, Sibierski has not found a club yet, Rigters is another option, sadly wages will probably poo poo all of those potentials

Apparently, Stefanovic will be the first permenant center back signing we''ve made since Malky Mackay 10 years ago. I think the signing of the Doc isn''t counted as Nigel did sign him as a striker....

Well, even if so, I still think that justifies the EDP''s claim Stefanovic will be the first specialist center half we''ve signed in 10 years...

Good news, the squad is shaping up quite nicely now.  With Bell the midfield is sorted with good competition for places. Stefanovic is a good experienced CB, plus I think Shackell always plays better with that sort of player alongside him.  No nothing about Omozusi though.  Just waiting for the strikers.  Andy Carroll and Arturo Lupoli would be fantastic.

If they all sign its good news.  It makes the fans feel things are happening it importantly gives us three more bodies in the squad.  A centre back who sounds like a leader, right back cover and a right sided midfielder. Fantastic if they do.That then leaves us to worry about who plays up front!

Ah, specialist is indeed the key word there, cos it would certainly be

OTT to describe Doc as a specialist at anything, except maybe

bear-hugging... [:P]

Even including Doc, though, its absolutely incredible that we''ve gone

this long without buying a proper CB! Now fingers crossed for

Taylor/Gorkss/Hungarian lad to play alongside him... [:)]

Maybe Stefanovic was signed so the Ginger Pele could play in his natural position up front!!!

you are saying that theses will be good signings !  hold on you want delia out  roeder has to talk to the board first before signing any players. so delia and the board have done something right then.

I think Bell is a really good little player but are we in danger of having too many midfielders? If we are short on cash then i think Hoolahan, Clingan, Rusty, Fozzy, Croft, Chadwick, Matty Patty and Lappin  as well as Bertrand and Spillane able to play there i think we are covered!

IMO If we get..

Dejan Stefanovic Elliot Omozusi, Andy Carroll or P Thompson, Aturo Lupoli, Mark Tyler and A Nother centre half then its a nice looking squad that we could go to the season with add a couple of young loanees later on and Bobs yer uncle. Even with our limited funds that should be within our grasp....

What a stupid post.  Just because I have lost trust in the current set-up and want change does not mean I am not a fan and want us to do well. I trust Glen Roeder to do the best he can with the fund he has, whether those funds are what he could and should have are a different arguement.  Go troll someone else.[quote user="king of latvia"][quote user="JC"]If they all sign its good news.  It makes the fans feel things are happening it importantly gives us three more bodies in the squad.  A centre back who sounds like a leader, right back cover and a right sided midfielder. This is what my Fulham supporter friend says about Stefanovic and Omozusi:

The Serb is a thug, and probably a bit old and slow now, hence his need to kick people. He’s pretty unsubtle about it too. Omozusi is good, though. As I remember, he was sent off for bad tackle in last couple of minutes of a game last year, giving away the penalty that meant we lost against Newcastle or West Ham, but I’d tell Glenn to go for him.

Isn''t Stefanovic left sided just like Shackell? So maybe Doc will be his CB partner unless someone else turns up! Or maybe Shax will be off to Wolves?? I think Roeder will keep him though and rotate the squad a bit, try to keep people happy. A difficult thing to achieve though - look what happened to our form last season when he started tinkering with the starting line up! I''m sure there''s something to be said in this division for keeping the same starting eleven if possible for as long as possible - if it''s a winning team.
