BunnyB 0 Posted July 19, 2008 Substitute Jamie Cureton scored an injury-time winner for City in their opening tour game in Sweden.Triallist Chris Makiese scored in the first half before Tobias Emback equalised for Ahlafors IF.The Canaries missed a hatful of chances and lost defender Jason Shackell with injury in the second half. There was one unfamiliar name on the Norwich City teamsheet for today''s friendly against Ahlafors IF in Sweden.French striker Chris Makiese, 20, on trial with the Canaries from Lille, was in the starting line-up, paired in attack with Chris Martin for the game at the picturesque Sjovallens ground. There was no outing for the two new signings from Fulham, centre-half Dejan Stefanovic and 19-year-old loan full-back Elliot Omozusi, while winger Wes Hoolahan was rested after suffering a slight thigh strain in the 8-1 win at Gorleston.Adam Drury was the other main absentee from the squad of 18, though he was with the travelling party. Makiese soon got on the scoresheet, giving the Canaries the lead after 12 minutes with a cool finish, lobbing the keeper after a swift counter-attack.But Ahlafors had already threatened when Peter Antonsson''s header led to a goalmouth scramble, and it took them less than a minute to equalise when Tobias Emback fired home after a free-kick caused uncertainty in the City defence.Jon Otsemobor and Chris Martin both had shots saved as City sought to restore their lead, and Martin missed a golden chance after 29 minutes when he shot wide from Matty Pattison''s pass.Makiese set up another chance for Croft, but he also fired wide.Otsemobor almost made it 2-1 with a surging run but his shot from a tight angle was saved by keeper Stefan Johansson.Johansson saved again from Martin in a frantic goalmouth incident, and three Ahlafors players were shown yellow cards in the closing stages of the half. Pattison was the one Norwich player shown the yellow card in the opening half.Half-time: Ahlafors IF 1, Norwich City 1Defender Jason Shackell limped off early in the second half with what looked like an ankle injury, the after effects of a bad first half challenge by Rikard Nylander.Pattison had one effort saved by Johansson and there were appeals for a penalty when Makiese appeared to be tripped by Markus Hansson, but to no avail.Martin and substitute Luke Chadwick cleared the bar with City''s next efforts, before Martin made way for Jamie Cureton.Gary Doherty became City''s second booking of the day as heavy rain made conditions more difficult.Jamie Cureton headed a stoppage time winner for City.Result: Ahlafors IF 1, Norwich City 2Ahlafors IF squad - Johansson, Andreas Skanberg, Forsman, Tobias Hansson, Andersson, Markus Hansson, Henriksson, Nylander, Stenstrom, Emback, Gunarsson, Mattias Skanberg, Kihlgren, Antonsson, Elving, Lundsten, Berntsson, Svensson.Norwich City - Marshall; Otsemobor, Doherty, Shackell, Eagle; Croft, Fotheringham, Clingan, Pattison; Martin, Makiese.
