@norfolkbroadslim As I said on another thread yesterday: "What was the timeline for the offer, Was the offer made pre-AGM ?" If we take words at face value, Cullum says he made the offer when we were "five points adrift" at the bottom of the table. That was after the Ipswich game - 4th of November. AGM was 18th October. However, Cullum is quoted as saying "“I made contact in October last year with City chief executive Neil Doncaster. Norwich were bottom of the league, five points adrift and in trouble." We went bottom of the league (4 points adrift) on the 27th of October. So either he got the number of points wrong or the month - clear as mud eh?
Exactly, I agree no-one knows the timeline and we may never know it.

For info we were not 5 points adrift on 4 November.

On the 3 November we were 4 points adrift, the draw on Sunday 4 November against Ipswich meant we were 3 points adrift.

The Ipswich draw took us to 9 points, 3 behind Palace who were on 12.  *We were the only Championship team who played on 4 November.  Therefore that point took us closer to the team above.

Not even as clear as that.  Did he mean five points adrift of the team above us or five points adrift of safety, ie. 21st place?  I haven''t a clue.

Doesn''t make much difference we were 4 points from safety on the 2 November and 6 points from safety on 3 November.  Still November and after AGM.

* A point to note is that the draw with Ipswich on 4 November meant we were 5 points from safety, but 3 points adrift at the foot.

Let''s try and clarify what we''re talking about.  When did PC first express an interest, and when did he offer to put in £5 million for players?

Judging by the "No local investors - yes there are - but they are being blocked" thread dated 1st October, PC had expressed an interest by September at the latest.

When did he offer the £5 million?  Common sense would suggest that it took place around the time of Glenn Roeder''s appointment on 30th October.

Any clearer?  Thought not . . . I''m going to bed [8-)] [S]

This is significant because the share price was raised on 18th October, and because the board''s denial that there could be any new investor was disingenuous if there had been contact with Cullum. My personal belief is that Cullum was talking about the Ipswich game - when we were 5 points from safety, and because he said "I went to see Norwich v Ipswich at Carrow Road last year. After 20

minutes Ipswich were 2-0 up, but 20,000 people started to lift the

team. I felt very emotional. Norwich almost won the game. I thought

''what a tremendous support base''."Two questions we don''t know the answer to: when was the dinner with Clarke, and was Clarke acting on his own initiative, or were the board aware of what was going on?

I really must be missing something here. As much as I want this investment in our club I can''t see where this so called offer that Delia has supposedly turned down is coming from. Yes we have the Pinkun front page story about a £5 milllion offer last year.

Could somebody clearly in the know tell the rest of us exactly what the offer was that Delia turned down. It''s a bit like the £20 million offer this week I suspect, Front page cheap journalistic crap which actually is no offer to Delia or any other share holder. I for one would not hand over my shares for nothing however big the injection of cash into the players budget.

I would like to think Peter Cullum is serious about a takeover bid, unfortunately though the £20 million is nothing but stirring in the press. Lets hope he is actually making a serious offer to but the shares he needs.
You''re not missing anything jbghost. The people who for so long have wished to bury Delia have grasped on to this input like a gang of vigilantes with a rope. They are not interested in a "trial" where the facts may be allowed to emerge unless it''s a hanging judge that also has the same agenda as the angry mob. All they smell is someone else''s money that''s been dangled like a proverbial carrot. If the amount is one, five or twenty million or more, it''s inconsequential. The crowd smells blood and that''s good enough for them.

Peter Cullum may come through but, so far, all that he has demonstrated is a desire to get the bloodthirsty mob onside and exert more pressure on those that own the shares. With respect to his overtures of last fall I would have to see the detail of that offer before I made a judgement on his motives and the reaction of the current principals. I go to my gut values when I''m trying to form an opinion and, I know one thing for sure, if I had been the major shareholder at NCFC at last years AGM and knew someone had approached me with what I considered an insulting offer to gain control of MY business, I would not have felt obligated to stand up and tell all and sundry anything about the matter whatsoever, particularly if that individual had access to significant financial resources and I wanted to see where the matter might lead.
Two very interesting posts that capture the heart of the issue. There has been no offer to buy Delia''s shares, but the mob are out in force anyway.

And you know this how?

So I''m guessing you will be quite happy to see Delia as majority shareholder for the next 15 years then, floundering around the bottom of the Championship?

GET REAL!

I don''t mind people sitting on the fence, but when you start throwing rocks at the people in garden then you''re a bit out of line.Bascially it doesn''t matter whether cullum put in a concrete offer or not. If he had approached delia with an interest in buying or there was sufficent rumour to suggest he was about to put an offer in (i.e. in november it would appear) then an annoucement should have been made (seemingly by both parties) and the increase in price of those paticular band of shares should have been looked into aas whether they were increased due to the interest of investors. (that''s my simple analysis of the code, but seeing as we are devoid of any business experts then atm that''s as far as I can say).
