A friend of mine works for a car dealer in the city who sponsor Gunnys car, Gunny was supposed to be making an appearance on their stand at the Norfolk Show today but said he could not make it as he has a Player coming down for talks..... Could this be Alan Gow ref the other thread??

I think he had a very good record at Falkirk and was quite sought after when he moved to Rangers. Seems to have gone a bit sour for him since!

According to what I have read he is a midfielder, another midfielder!

Before people start moaning, most Rangers fans rate him. His goals per game ratio for a midfielder is pretty good while at Falkirk and Airdrie.

Scored 1 in 5 for Falkirk during two seasons in the scot prem and it is no mean feat not playing for a side who were UEFA Cup finalists last year

Not forgetting the more recent ones. Holt, Marshall, Fozzy. And anyhow, only 1 of the scottish players turned out to be crap (Murray)
Correct me if i''m wrong but didn''t he go to Burnley as part of the Laferty deal?
According to the wiki page that part of the deal fell through, seems like Gow did not fancy going to Burnley. As for being 6 feet tall, he is only 11st though. His record for an attacking midfielder is good (he can play left side and up front as well), think he could be a handy player to have.

Well I am going say excellent signing.  As people have pointed out he is a goalscoring midfieler who got a goal every five games in his prime.  In my opinion this is exactly the type we need.  He hasn''t been given a chance at Rangers, so lets not worry about that.  6ft as well I am liking the sound of this one.  It may of course mean that Rusell is on his way, but I hope that we need a squad of players.  Roeder may have Pattison for backup on the left for whoever we sign to replace hucks.  Therefore 4 players of Fozzy, Rusty, Clinghan and Gow.  They are all slighlt different.  Fozzy an excellent passer, Rusty a real battler with a goal threat, Clinghan a really solid centre mid with an engine and Gow to chip in with maybe 10 goals a season(heres hoping?).  I think we need them all, but no more.

6ft and 11 stone - he''s hardly a giant is he !? (if that''s the new benchmark for judging how good a player''s going to be...)

I''m more inclined to call this a panic buy as he only played twice for Rangers last season so how can they be rating him? He is not what City need

Give the guy a chance I reckon.  I always look back to the Stringer days of buying relative unknowns and developing them as being what this club is all about.

I was abount 8 when we signed him but I imagine few people thought Crooky would set the world alight when we signed him from Spurs in the mid 80s?
