Branston Pickle 3,632 Posted May 18, 2008 Just seen on the beeb that Cole has "failed to agree terms" with Burnley, so is presumably a free agent. Not completely sure about him, but at 36 he could perhaps do a decent job for a season or two and certainly shouldn''t be completely dismissed out of hand (look at Phillips for West Brom this season); Roy Keane certainly saw enough in him last summer to give him a one year contract, 6 goals in 13 games for Burnley is a decent return, and they wanted to keep him which suggests he still has something to offer. Branston Pickle 3,632 Posted May 18, 2008 Ok re: his hattrick, but equally he only started 8 games so that has to be taken into consideration as well: you could legitimately call his Burnley record 6 goals in 8 starts...is always a problem when you are looking at stats!Possibly true re: his wage demands (he certainly turned down a contract offer), but you never know unless you try.
