The Re-Building Job... MASSIVE

Recommended Posts

As I see it this will be our squad next year without any incomings and with all our loan players going back and contracts renewed or not..

Goalkeepers - David Marshall, Matthew Gilks, Steve Arnold

Right Backs - Jon Otsemobor, Cave Brown

Centre Backs - Gary Doherty, Jason Shackell

Left Backs - Adam Drury, Simon Lappin

Right Midfield - Luke Chadwick, Lee Croft

Centre Midfield - Mark Fotheringham, Darel Russell, Michael Spillane

Left Midfield -  Matty Pattison, Robert Eagle

Strikers - Jamie Cureton, Chris Martin

That is the squad I see it coming into the summer transfer window, judging on that we need 2 centre backs, a central midfielder, a left midfielder and 2 strikers!

These would be my targets..

Centre Backs - Taylor - 750 000, Alex Pearce - Loan

Central Midfield - Kris Commons - 500 000, Keiron Gibbs - Loan

Left Midfield - Wes Hoolahan - 500 000

Strikers - Maceo Rigters/ Ched Evans - Loan, Jermaine Beckford - 1 million

Id like to see Evans back here, and Bertrand in for Drury - apart from that, i think we need a grittier CM in that team, eg Rusty, apart from that it looks amazing.

Great minds think alike, KIO.

Include a good centre half e.g. Tiny or someone similar and I would feel we had a chance of turning things round.

We must secure Ched for another year whatever the cost. That boy is going to get a lot better over the next couple of seasons if he gets regular games.

Thats a poor team for me, I would swap Croft for Chadwick who I think is lightweight and gives the ball away far too often. Commons is a left winger mate, I dont think it would be a good idea to put a left winger in the middle. Doherty and Taylor are too similar and I would play Shackell ahead of Doherty. Drury in my opinion may be well past his best. Rigters is not a proven goalscorer. Anybody that thinks we will get Hoolahan for 500k is living in a dream world anyway not going to happen, There are no defensive midfielders in that eleven at all, I would incorporate Russell in a holding man position, or ideally play Matty Pattison in the defensive hole where i think he is most effective.

                           Marshall

NEW RB      Taylor    Shackell     Bertrand

                          Pattison

Croft                 Fotheringham        Commons

                    Evans    Huckerby

SQUAD:

Russell, Doherty, NEW STRIKER, Otsemober, Drury, Gilks, Martin, NEW RIGHT WINGER, NEW CENTRE MID,

OUT: Cureton, Chadwick, Jarvis x 2

Thats my squad.

Would be happy with that team, I would have Bertrand here again quicker than you can say ''Turners show your money''.
eah if we get Hoolihan for £500,000 that will be the best bit of business since we sold McKenzie.

"Central Midfield - Kris Commons - 500 000, Keiron Gibbs - Loan"I like your idea of Commons, but i dont think Gibbs has done nowhere near enough to earn another season with us. Ok, his performances have been better in the last 2 weeks but he still hasn''t convinced me he''s ready for this level yet, but i''m not saying he wont be in a few years. Also, i doubt Wenger would let us have him again, as tbh he hasn''t really played a lot has he?

Doesnt anyone else think that Croft and Gilks are also likely to leave?   Croft was overlooked recently and Gilks wanted first team football.

This on top of the strikers means an enormous reshaping over the summer.

Strikers,  midfield then defence.  Taylor?  Not necesary for me, spend the money up front,  we need 3 good strikers pushing each other - as we did during our promotion season.
Better rule out Fozzie aswell, he is leaving and will be replaced by Johnnie Jackson....crystal balls
He''ll be expensive for you - he has two years to run on his contract and says he isn''t going anywhere and specifically said: "I''m not about to do what Jamie did" (LOL!)

He won our Player of the Year award on Saturday.
