going up? No fans tho!!!!

Recommended Posts

Congratulations to Stoke City for securing 10,000 season ticket sales for next season and to Hull City for selling 12,500 season tickets.  I know neither team have secured promotion yet but when I compare that with the 19,000 Norwich have sold, it does P*** me off!!!!

Why the hell does the number of fans through the gate make any difference to a clubs position? you get 0 points for crowd size so why worry?

When your at the carrot, rather than watch the dross on the pitch, do you just look around at the other supporters drooling with pride?

It''s not something that overly bothers me to be honest.  You could look at it that at least you wont have to go to half empty grounds like Hull and Stoke next season.  Then again if the likes of Bolton and Birmingham come down they''ll be replaced by half empty grounds. In fact it gets on my tits when teams like newcastle go on about their big crowds and how they should be challenging.  It''s the team on the pitch that count not what''s in the crowd.  That goes for the Ipswich and Wolves fans who have posted on this post too i think your teams will just miss out on the play offs.  I''m not saying it because i despise both your clubs i just think you''ll miss out.

Yeah, that crappy Manure are top of the Prem and can only attract 75,000+  to their horrible tumbledown stadium.....

But the food''s better at Carra, and you still got the restricted view facility with those stanchion thingy''s - that hold the roof up on the River and Barclay end......and we''ve got the BIG EVENT coming up, which is mucho betterer than hosting pathetic International games and other non-event $hite......

Those Utd ''fans'' from all over the UK and beyond - must be seething and drooling with envy.....

Success breeds fans, people seem to forget that we had pretty average attendances before Worthy brought a little success to the club. Thankfully many of those fans that jumped on the bandwagon then have stayed on.

Just 10,000 season tickets ? But how much revenue has that created? We had much lower crowds, not pre Worthy but pre Delia who introduced a pricing policy to draw in the fans. Would all the " give us your money Delia" crowd be prepared to pay a higher price for their season tickets in order to finance the revolution they demand, although I doubt whether most of those whingers ever step inside Carrow Road.

very true sir, i do apologise

but my point is still the same, theres no discussion here

answer the question wigan or norwich? whos better of currently?? there is no discussion

next you''ll say liverpool cant be top 4 due to several teams having high gate averages i.e newcastle, sunderland

football doesnt work like this! as you dear friend tractor said there are 0pts awarded for attendences!

this not dig at norwich as you have some most local supporters in champ, so well done on that side of the coin

I''d rather live in Norwich and be in League 2 than live in Stoke and be in the Premiership.

Certain things in life are more important than football!

Sorry mate but I would rather support norwich than wigan at the moment.  Dont get me wrong, I am not knocking Wigan, its owners, players or fans but we have a history of European football that they may never have.  NCFC also finished third in the Premiership. Will Everton, Spurs or Villa  do that now ? You may not like me for saying this but Ipswich have a tremendous history for the size of their club - League Champions, FA Cup and UEFA cup success.  It is the history of the clubs that make its fans stick with them through thick and thin.

This time next year then Norwich may be returning to the Premier league because the Championship is that wide open with so few points between top and bottom.

In response to some earlier posts... Crowds do matter! To me anyway.

Wigan may have a superior league position but who really wants to go and watch football in a half-empty, lifeless ground? I would rather attend a Leeds game in league2 with 30,000 others creating an ATMOSPHERE than rattle around in the JJB witnessing the supposed glamour and glitz of the worlds richest league!

I''m immensely proud of our attendances especially given our poor performances on the pitch for the last few years and believe that a full ground regardless of league position is a reflection of the loyalty and passion of the supporters. No doubt I''ll be shot down for this, but as a season ticket holder I want to be entertained and enjoy matchday which will be influenced by several factors including the performance of the team, the style of play, the result, the atmosphere in the ground, the banter between other supporters, pub & pre-match beers etc.

As a supporter, which I assume we all are - football is about a lot more than the points on the board. A large vocal crowd will enhance the matchday experience every time.

Had we not been handicapped by one Mr Peter Grant for half the season, we too might have been in Stokes position.  Whilst I don''t like their style of ''football'', if you can call it that, I don''t begrudge them their chance in the prem - Good luck to them.

What is the ''point''  Floppy Eared Einstein Mr Magnus Magnitude?......I bet you don''t even know what the ''point'' is......

Would I rather have a regular 16,000 attendance of mentalist, vociferous, ranting and raving loyal City fanatics at Carra Rud? Or rather a subservient fawning gullible extra 8,000 - "It''s not as good or as entertaining as the cinema....but the fresh air is good for us.....Delia''s always there and we can see her waving her scarf sometimes.....and it''s the ''Hip'' ''Trendy'' and the ''In Thing'' to attend soccer matches and get yourself noticed"......(and so many other real and mundane reasons that folk really and actually attend the games).....

Watch how quickly those corporate ''comfy'' seats fill up again, after half-time freebee ''refreshies'' in the Jarrold.......Watching the young and prospective future chavtastic support heading for a life-time problem of RSI in their thumbs - as they frantically text their chums and are totally oblivious to what''s occurring on the pitch.....Or listen to the muted and muffled applause from behind the plate-glass boxes - that encircle the inner of the Stadium......I could go on.....but, what''s the ''point''?.......

I actually go for the football......I attend as many away games as personal and family commitment''s will allow.....''for the football''......I socialise with my fellow ''passionate supporting'' mates.....(who''ve also been attending - for quite a long time).......and we discuss the football....(and some other stuff).....

Now, hop off back to your carrot juice and lush grass......have a paws - and then dream about Daryl Hutch.....[|-)]....and Neil Doncaster....and Delia.....and see if you can ''burrow'' a sense of humour - while you''re at it.....Dullard...

if you was all wigan fans you wouldnt say that, your only saying that as your norwich fans

if you got prem would you spend to stay up? or would your money go into the chairmans back pocket never to be resurfeced

just because you go up doesnt mean you stay up

I think he''s annoying most people now and over 2000 posts in 9 months shows how much time he spends on here.

Wolves are on the verge of the play offs and have a massive game at homw this weekend, surely you want to be with your fans sometimes to chat?
