Yellow Rider 0 Posted April 1, 2008 Wednesday and Coventry drawing that is.We are now just three points off the drop. Would have been much better if Coventry had hung on for the win. With Wednesday playing Scunthorpe on Saturday our game is taking on even more significance, we can''t keep hoping that others slip up cos sooner or later they won''t.Southampton are in a worse run than us and have a difficult run in but I still can see them winning a couple or so when the chips are down.Still good old Rodeo Norfolk will still be saying .......''we''ll we might not be absolutely mathematically safe but.......'' and Neil Adams will be saying ....''no chance'' (of us going down). I''m afraid there is every chance. Burnley MUST be beaten, I don''t want to make the trip to Portaloo Road still stuck on 49 points thank you!
lucky green trainers 0 Posted April 2, 2008 the winnable ones are ''must win'' make no mistake - the better teams can still play cr@p and win, but if the bottom teams play cr@p you''ve a better chance of winning and taking 3 points. makes the disappointment of saturday more difficult to take. our points cushion is dwindling - and agreed 3 points on say will make everyone breathe more easily!!!its been a funny league this year - who wouldn''t bet on scunny doing the wednesday??? colchester nearly sprang a surprise against WBA last saturday after all............ whoareyou? 0 Posted April 2, 2008 Actually i would say it was the right result for us. Coventry stay below us and are still in the mix and Wednesday don''t get much closer but have played another home game!

[/quote]Neil Adams is talking out of his rear end i''m afraid. At the moment we sit 3 points above the relegation zone with 5 games to go, a couple of the teams in between having a game in hand. Anybody talking about no chance of going down has to take a long hard look at themselves. We also have the unenvyable situation of having an away game against a relegation rival on the last day of the season.I reckon 4 points from these 5 games and we are safe. A defeat Saturday and a red card for Russell and I think we are down. So we have a good chance of staying up IMO, should Southampton find a win Saturday and us not I doubt Neil Adams will be quite as optomistic.

It''s the perfect result, both teams drop 2 points and are still below us.
Barclay_Boy 0 Posted April 2, 2008 agreed mate, I would rather have seen Coventry win and Sheff Wed lose, with 2 isolated at the bottom we need another one to be falling behind the pack, any of the teams down there picking up even 1 point brings them closer to us, we only need 1 team in 21st position and I would rather that is sorted out before the final day and that it''s not us! Stating the absolutely bleeding obvious, we need a win against Burnley!

Huddy 0 Posted April 2, 2008 Surely a draw is a decent result for us.It keeps both sides below us.A coventry win would have put them above us, and perhaps out of it, and made the table look worse, and a Wednesday win would have dragged another sude up to us. I say good result. Be positive!
