Idiots on Canary Call

Recommended Posts

Today one caller really wound me up by saying Huckerby was no good today & the sooner he''s on the first plane out of here, the beter! I''m sure some people, no matter how many times they go, still don''t know what they are talking about! Huckerby had a good game today even when on the rigt but when he moved to the left looked sharp! I hope he signs for one more year because IMHO is still the most dangerous playe at the club!

Thought he was very good today, especially good work to set up the second goal. Another year could be good, if we have patters down the left, croft down the right and hucks coming off the bench we have some threat down the wings.

I sit in the Norwich and Peterborough lower tier and I am surrounded by idiots. Most of them are over 50 and moan for the sake of moaning, saying that I think that the majority of Norwich fans know there football.

I dont know what that man was talking about either.  A good performance today from Hucks, because noramlly he dosn''t play to well on the right, but today he did his job wonderfully well.  I agree with king canary aswell, I think we should play Croft on the right and Pattison on the left and bring Hucks on in the last 20 minutes or so.

Also I know this is a Huckerby thread but I would like to say well played Pattison today.  His recent performances have been pants but today I think he did really well, and we should play him on the left more often.

I didn''t listen to canary call today so I can''t comment on what people said re Hucks.

But I''d agree that he did look better today, especially down the left, and I do think that he would have something to offer if his hip problem clears up and it gives him some of his pace back.

However, I really do think people need to let go, at the end of the day he''s a luxury. He is all attack and no defence which is no bad thing, but it''s no good when your main skill as an attacker (his pace) has left him.

Hucks got the ball in some fantastic positions today where in days of old he would have destroyed the FB but he wasn''t able to today, the reason why was the lack of pace. In days of old his speed would leave defenders for dead, but it''s just not there, even the mst biased of Hucks fans must be able to see that.

Before the short memory argument gets thrown back at me I would like to say that I do have a decent memory and it holds many fond memorys of Hucks, I''m just realistic, his pace was his biggest asset, and it looks like it''s gone.

If he can regain it during the summer somehow then another year would be great, but I really don''t see it.

Just out of interest what did people think of Pattison on the left today? I thought he was decent if unspectacular, certainly better on the left than in CM.

Also I think having gone without Darrell Russell for a few games I think we can now see what he brings to the table a lot more clearly than before.

Yeah I heard that. The guy sounded like an right prat - Just an old fart who would rather look at the negatives in life. Huckerby, from what I heard on the radio, had a terrific game.

An excellent post-sums up Huckerby a treat. Time to let go and remember. Sad we call callers to Canary Call "Prats" as they are entitled to their view. If it doesn''t follow yours then be grateful we live in a country where freedom to speak is permitted. Just think of the China v Tibet spat and see which environment you would prefer!

Got in one City Angel, The Sweeney sounds like one of those ''right on'' socialist do gooders. He probably only pauses during the day to dive into The Guardian for more inspiration(sic)

I managed to catch it on the way home, as Adams said, you will always get people sturing the pot and it worked. We are talking about it now and at the time on the radio. Thats what he wants.

When I heard that Hucks was playing on the right, I was a little annoyed. But thought he played very well, dragged players out wide and create space. Very poor with his deliveries from set pieces thou.

To be fair I think "spat" is putting it a bit lightly - years of brutal opression, economic exclusion, suppression of liberty, arbitary arrest, torture, imprisonment without trial, etc. seems a little more than a spat.

I thought Hucks was better today but still nothing like the real Darren Huckerby.

When he was one-on-one with the keeper in the first half he fluffed it completely, Hucks of old would have scored it with his eyes closed!

He set up Cureton''s first goal well when he went down the outside of his marker but that was one of the only times he tried it, the rest he kept cutting inside. I agree he looked better once moved out to the left.

I really hope he''s the one who scores the vital goal to keep us up so that he can leave on a high but I definitely think that we should let him go at the end of this season.

If we won the bl**dy league they''d still be moaners! - Fact of life!

We must remember Hucks was playing out of position on the right when we all know his best position is on the left!

Even if hes not 100% or maybe losing his pace and being played out of position he still breezed past their right back to cross for Curetons first goal!

When he was moved to his best position on the left it was no coincidence he became more effective and threatening!

A Hucks not as good as he used to be is still much better than the out of their depth young loanees that we''ve seen lately!

 - Still a huge asset and still has that extra dimension that gives opposing teams plenty to ponder about!

Hucks is definately worth another one year deal!

Okay, then let''s be fair.  Tibet MUST have done something wrong to receive that sort of treatment from China.  I mean, the Chinese don''t treat their own citizens (of which they include the people of Tibet) that way, do they?  Oh, wait........ never mind.

What is wrong with reading the guardian anyway? I read it, or the times and they are both good papers. I would much rather talk to somebody who reads the guardian rather than the sun or the mail.

I seem to remember Graeme Le Saux used to be talked about because he was a Guardian reader... which then apparently explained the other rumours about him.  It''s odd when you have to apologise for being intelligent, though luckily I''ve never found myself in that situation for obvious reasons.

Yeah i remember that, absolutley ridiculous. Although having seen Le Saux on Match of the Day last year he was rubbish so maybe not that smart.

Must confess that "The Guardian" does not feature on my reading list so you got that one way wrong. As for being a socialist- you got that wrong as well. As for being a "do gooder"-you also got that wrong as well. It really is not your day is it? As for searching for inspiration-that comes from family, friends and work colleagues as well as some of the people we deal with on a daily basis who have had or are having a tough time.

Just a thought-don''t do the lottery-with your "skills" of assessing people you have not got a chance!
