Rob Green Charity Project

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone.

I am helping Rob Green with a charity project which he is undertaking in June. We are working alongside AMREF (www.amref.org) who are an African based charity and will be heading to the poorest slums in Kenya and Tanzania. Rob will be taking part in football tournaments and project visits while out there as well as a sponsored climb of Mount Kilimanjaro. The aim of the trip is to get large crowds of local people in order to share vital information on preventable diseases as well bring attention to the plight of these people. Rob will also be supplying lots of sporting equiptment to the local communities. For more information, please join my facebook group here:

Before we go, we are aiming to raise £100,000 to take with us.

We are hosting a 5-a-side on the pitch at Upton Park and a golf day at the London Club in which each team of 4 will have a professional goalkeeper, past or present within it. For more details, flyers and entry forms feel free to email me at winstonwes@yahoo.com.

Finally, there are 10 spaces for people who can raise £4,000 or over in sponsorship to come and climb Mount Kilimanjaro with us again email me for more information.

If these are out of your price range but you''d still like to contribute, you can sponor Rob to complete the climb of Mount Kilimanjaro here:

Every penny really does count, so any donations, no matter how small are greatly appreciated. Please pass this information on to anybody that you feel may be interested.

Many thanks.

Wes

Hi.

Thanks to those of you that have contacted me and joined the facebook group. Would people please respond to this message so that the thread is kept in view please?

I don''t usually approve of ''bumping'' threads, but this is for a good cause.

Cheers.

Here is the info on climbing Mt Kilimanjaro with Rob from the Amref website:

Fancy a unique challenge? Climb Kilimanjaro (Africa’s highest mountain) with West Ham and England goalkeeper Robert Green.

Robert Green, the West Ham and England goalkeeper, will be climbing Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania in June 2008 and you could be one of the 10 people joining him on this challenge as Robert raises money to help AMREF save and transform lives in Africa.  See www.amref.org/uk for more info on AMREF’s work.

If you’re up for the challenge, physically fit and can fundraise a minimum of £4,000 between now and June 2008 then please get in touch with AMREF UK''s fundraising team on 020 7269 5520 or email f.larsen@amrefuk.org.
