I really hope this happens with us, I''d hate to see him leave. I, unlike some others, have been a huge fan of him, even when he looked like me running round carrying a touch of weight.

I even called my pet rabbit crofty, much to the wifes annoyance.

Can we offer him a new contract now and stop all this talk or is that considered "a financial gamble" which it appears anything but a new restaraunt is these days.

KEEP CROFTY HERE, PLEASE!

I agree, with what you said, I also think its been one of our smarter signings in recent years.  Paying 600k for a 20year old winger who can chnage games.  He was only young when we signed him, and he needed time to gain experience, he is also a guaranteed resale value, which Dave, Brellier and Murray were not!  From a Prem League academy you normally guarantee a decent resale.  I think we should be looking a more players from that background.

I think he very useful player in this league if he stays fit and gets regular games

if you got offer of 1m+ i may be tempted personally

but then i would want to have target lined up,you wouldnt want sell him for say 1.2m then be looking the market

i would also look for young replacement who cost 700k max so you make bit money but also have another developing player

he also at great age for footballer and no reason why norwich shouldnt keep him

you should be flattered that your getting intrest of "Bigger" sides for your players

he''s a good player but needs to improve on the end product much more to be a big player i think...

needs to score more goals and get far more assists rather than run around a lot

jas :)

I love the way fans of other clubs come on our forum and advice us to sell one ofour best players for peanuts.  In my mind if we were to sell it would have to be silly money.  Think about a couple of players who have gone for silly money like Walcott and Young.  Lets hope we hold on to him.
Sell him and buy someone cheap like Michael Kightly.
Too injury prone :)

Seriously, though, I''d expect a fee of at least £1.5mil before we even consider letting him go, possibly more.

croft maybe useful but he is no where near the standard of those players you mentioned, maybe in your eyes but im sure 99.9% of people follow football will agree with me here, fee would be between 1m-1.75m i should think for croft and i would expect 1.3m+ as norwich dont have to sell

as to kightly dont care what you say signed 80k, young player of the league and easily best right winger in league, its sad he injured but least (touch wood) he should be staying till least next summer. good times!

how about mcanuff as replacement? worth shout

There is no reason we can''t demand silly money for croft.  Ok I take your point that at this time Young, Walcott and others are way ahead of Croft.  That said they were sold by their clubs because of pontenial ability and we should take the same stance with croft.  Walcott had only played a handful of games and scored a couple of goals before he move to the Gunners for 15M.  Players with pace go for silly money there are countless examples.  At 22 Croft has up to another 10 years playing and if he is happy to stay why sell.  His value will only increase.

i can''t see crofty going for silly money - not yet.  he''s not scoring enough to justify a huge price tag -but, hey if a loaded prem club came calling of course the boy would go.  he''s now getting a end product to his game - and with natural development, he could be a real force in this league for us next year.

He is no good in this bloody division, let alone the bloody Premiership, he has no end product, so what good will he be in the Premiership if he can''t cross a ball, he is also unfit and overweight and has been since he got here, yes he has great work effort but that won''t get him by in the Premiership, if you ask me if Chadwick was fit, Croft wouldn''t even be playing, i say let him go whatever the offer, he is a waste of time.

About time you considered that Dublin is normaly his only target and crossing it is about putting it front, middle or back post - if you have one player attacking it then it makes it a little harder for the players to communicate. Two players attacking it and you suddenly have only one option not covered.

Where did you learn to write?

Fascinating case study, I would think.

I wonder if the NHT could fund the research?

I am  amazed at the profile beng given to Croft.......clearly I know nothing and he is actually a very good player.

I will be happy to be proved wrong because if nothing else he is a lad with a good attitude who gives his best.
