Syteanric 1 Posted March 6, 2008 obviously fans of an "older generation" are going to have an advantage having seen the greats of yesteryear... Im going to try and construct a team based on what i have been told by family... been following the club since 1992 so any thing before that is based on the fact i never saw those players play!so here goes.KeelanCulverhouseBowenButlerStringerCrossanHuckerbyCrook PetersGavin Robertshow do u all think that lot would of fared? Splendid Rush 2 Posted March 6, 2008 I''m mid 80''s too so:Gunn, Culverhouse, Bowen, Bruce, Linighan, Fox, Huckerby, Crook, Phillips, Sutton, Fleck (1st time).I''d shuffle the formation a bit to accomodate these players. I know Linighan isn''t the best CB in my time, but I loved watching him play which has been the basis for my team choices.

Scooby 0 Posted March 6, 2008 Very difficult isn''t it. The problem is, are you supposed to pick your best 11 players ever, or pick an actual side, ie 1 goalie, 4 defenders etc.....??As most people seem to be going for a playing eleven then here''s mine; KeelanCulverhouse Bruce Watson BowenBarham Townsend Paddon Huckerby Peters SuttonBench : A cast of ooh...... nutty nigel 7,528 Posted March 6, 2008
obviously fans of an "older generation" are going to have an advantage having seen the greats of yesteryear...
It''s not really an advantage Jas when you consider how many the OG''s have to choose from. It makes it more difficult really. I pick from 1967 onwards and choose from: -GK: Keelan, Woods, Gunn, Green.RB: Machin, Culverhouse, Nedergaard.LB: Sullivan, Downes, Bowen.CB: Stringer, Forbes, Jones, Powell, Hareide, Watson, Bruce, Butterworth, Linnighan, Polston, Newsome, Fleming, Mackay.MF: Bryceland, Anderson, Paddon, Livermore, Suggett, Peters, O''Neill, Phelan, Williams, Crook, Townsend, Phillips, Safri.Wingers: Foggo, Neighbour, Barham, Gordon, Fox, Adams, Eadie, Huckerby.Forwards: Curran, Cross, Bone, MacDougall, Boyer, Reeves, Fashanu, Royle, Deehan, Channon, Drinkell, Fleck, Sutton, Ekoku, Robins, Bellamy, Roberts, Ashton, Svensson, Earnshaw, Dublin.So... I always start with Keelan and include Peters but otherwise choose a different eleven everytime.Tell you what though... it''s great being an old git and seeing that lot play for City [;)][Y]

HappyhammerAndy 0 Posted March 6, 2008 Like you, from the occassions that I saw him play at UP, I was surprised that more people didn''t put Duncan Forbes in their line up. Captain too, wasn''t he?I thought that Paddon was a was a great player, who was very underated.

FilletTheFishWife . 0 Posted March 10, 2008 the online vote forces you to pick 4-4-2 with 2 wingers so you end up picking a right winger who wouldn''t otherwise makes most greatest XIs.
