I have to say that my greatest relief when Grant was sacked was that Robson was already in a job. I don''t think our much-maligned board would have been so stupid to appoint him, but they would certainly have received my season ticket in the post if they had. Astonishing that anyone would consider giving him a manager''s job. Iain Dowie to take the Blades on a remarkable run to the play-offs?

i heard they appointed kevin blackwell (ex leeds manager)

did i hear right? if so guessing that its temporary till end of season??

robson deserved to go months ago, they spent double than everyone else, and got loans such as cahill, martin, bardsley

how they not in top half shows either they lazy or robson crap manager or both

I think he''s become unemployable as a manager, can''t see who could possibly give him another job with his track record. Besides, he''s such a miserable git, he wouldn''t motivate or inspire me.

He is an awful manager, his defence was Naysmith (2mill ex prem), Cahill (5.5 prem) Barsley (2.5mill prem), and Killgallon (2mill) for the first half of the season, and he had 8strikers - including 2fresh signings at 6mill!!  and he said not good enough?!?!  The guy is a capital loser, but then is Blackwell much better, he moans more than any other manager I have ever heard in my life, other than Steve "contract talks" Bruce.

you do know leeds he did good job, got them to playoff final. remember he had to build his own team after 1st season they was down they had likes of joachim up front

he built his own team, just missed out on automatic and then just got beat on the day for playoff final although being clearly best team in playoffs that year

he did lose players confidence though in 2nd season and left them when they were around 15th (bad for leeds as expecting 1st) but look where they ended up the same season with wise - they were truly sinking ship with rotten players in there like derry and butler who didnt want to play for the club

luton - i thought be top or near this year, but look at there squad its rather poor with key sales through past 1-2seasons of KEY players, with players like morgan expressing a wish to leave as well isnt nice. maybe with solid finacial team he will succeed

think he worth a shot, thought maybe with lower team though say burnley standard etc..

I think you''re right Wolfie.  It''s just that  he''s been mixing with a bad crowd tho. Bad luck seems to follow him.

Blackwell did well enough for Leeds during their play-off run, however he seemed to show his naivety in the final when he set his team up 4-5-1.  Playing defensively, they never got out of first gear and were soundly beaten by Watford.  He''s one of those managers who''d do well with a mid-table Champs side, I reckon, but has a bit of learning to do before making the step-up to a promotion team.  Obviously Sheff Utd feel he''s already at that stage, but I''ve yet to see anything that suggests so...
