Lincs CR 0 Posted February 2, 2008 Personally i dont think Cureton was the correct buy for us anyway, yes...he scored plenty of goals for Colchester, but you have to take into considering the relationship in attack he had with his strike partner. He doesnt really have that at Norwich.Shouldnt have brought him back, he doesnt seem to WANT it enough. Agree with you that Russell has showed he wants to succeed here so much, and has succeeded her, been exceptional all season for us.Cureton - buck up your ideas and show some detemination or ship out... Tetteys Jig 853 Posted February 2, 2008 looked lively today, but has probably lost half a yard since last year. Needs to learn how to do some of the simple things a bit better. He fluffed his easiest chance today, despite doing well with 3 harder chances
Old Boy 0 Posted February 2, 2008 I don''t think he''s despairing at all - he''s just working through a bad patch. When he came on he did some good work, and had two good clean strikes at goal from difficult posititons. He looks better now than he did earlier in the season - sharper and more determined. Mister Chops 11 Posted February 3, 2008
Shouldnt have brought him back, he doesnt seem to WANT it enough.
Have to disagree with you there. I think Jamie''s trying too hard and needs to relax more. He seems very uptight in front of goal and snatches at chances he was tucking away for fun for his other teams. Is it the self-imposed pressure of playing for a club you love? Possibly. It''s not helping him, though.
Syteanric 1 Posted February 3, 2008 Jamie was unlucky yesterday... we looked like scoring when he came on.. he bought a couple of decent saves out of the keeper which is encouraging, on another day he''d of put them away...Roeder got it right yesterday.. Evans and Dublin were not going to score... they needed someone up front who could run at the defenders and Jamie did that, forced the defence further up to try and catch him offside which allowed Rusty to find space for the shot. good performance from Jamie and although the goal wasnt there im sure it will do his confidence the world of goodjas :)
First Wizard 0 Posted February 3, 2008 I thought the game changed and City went up a gear when JC came on...............it was only their keepers good work what kept him from scoring.
BBFF 0 Posted February 3, 2008 Some players just don''t fit in a team, maybe "barn door Jamie" is one of them. Remember Mike Sheron, could not score for us, only lasted a season I think, sold him to Stoke then couldn''t stop scoring. FOOTBALL MUST COME FIRST

Graham Humphrey 13 Posted February 3, 2008 Cureton seems better as an impact player coming off the bench. When he starts he seems to be anonymous but as a sub he always seems to cause problems for the opposition.
ricardo 8,098 Posted February 3, 2008 Looked sharp when he came on and deserves better luck than of late.NCFC through and throughbut still a "Poor Man''s Earnshaw".
barclay seats 4849 0 Posted February 3, 2008 Jamie was the only man on our team who even looked like he was capable of scoring................until Darel let that one go!Give him the service and he will score.......he spends too much time getting the ball for himself. At least when he got the ball , and was subsequently closed down by defenders, he found enough space to get a shot in..........thats more than Dion or Ched managed to do. E.L.F. 0 Posted February 3, 2008 I can''t understand why he isn''t starting with Ched rather than the Dion/Evans lineup? We know that Dion is not coming back next year and Jamie will be unless something changes in the summer. Last year, he worked well with a big partner and although Ched is only 6 feet, it takes time to form a partnership. As per the source below, it seems that Ched maybe a target for a permanent signing since his contract is up at season''s end. If Roeder is leaning that way, then why not pair these two up now and let them work it out? It''s not like the current duo is knocking them in left and right.Wales line up the next big thingsicWales.co.uk (July 8, 2007)"He was voted Manchester City’s most promising player just after receiving a two-year pro contract last season." Ched might be seen s surplus and we may manage to get him. lets see how he does for the rest of the year tho.
FU MAN SHOE 0 Posted February 3, 2008 Jamie looked very sharp for the short time he was on yesterday, those two chances were very slim but if it hadn''t been for their keeper''s excellent save, the first would have gone in for sure. I was right behind the goal and convinced of it. I''d like to see him get the start next game.As for the future, if Ched isn''t a natural target man, then I think Rusty could push up a bit further for that sort of ball and his retention and distribution could well replace what we are currently getting from Dion. Jamie will come good...the passion is there.
1st Wizard 0 Posted February 3, 2008 he cant score a goal - FACTEveryone slated Brown for not scoring goals, but Cureton isn''t either...Just cos someone dies their hair green they aren''t immune to criticism... just like another former glory boy who has lost his touch big time

Overall though he hasn''t done enough - as for the people saying he''d score if he got the opportunities, we had a spell where we made a lot of chances but he missed almost all of them. He''s still our top scorer however.
E.L.F. 0 Posted February 3, 2008 I think that the criticism is deserved. But whether you like it or not,he''s still leading the team in goals this season however pathetic thenumber is. From what I remember, it''s difficult to put one in whenyour backside is riding the pine. Put him back in the starting 11 withChed and let''em see what they can accomplish over the remaining games. It can''t be any worse than what we''re accomplishing now. Now if we start to give up 2 or 3 per game, then all bets are off!
Hog 0 Posted February 3, 2008 Lets face it, Cureton isn''t getting any younger, he had a fantastic season last year but he is not the future of Norwich City. Needs to be replaced with a younger, hungrier, classier model in the summer...

JC has missed so many sitters over the last 2/3 months - chances against Ipswich, Plymouth, Bury, Wolves and Leicester spring to mind without any need for deep thought!! The only 2 goals he has scored recently at Scunthorpe & Wolves he did his best to miss too (at Scunny he had an open goal and it went in off the post and the Wolves keeper should certainly have saved his shot in that game.In fairness, I thought he did very well yesterday and did change the game when he came on by running at the centre halves and forcing a couple of good saves from the keeper. I agree that he seems to be trying too hard to score and would certainly disagree that he doesn''t want it enough - I would never fault him for his effort and commitment. Poringland Canary (1) 0 Posted February 3, 2008 I agree totally. Jamie''s heart is in the right place. He really wants to be ggod for us, and maybe tries too hard? He will come good. Give him time. I think not signing a striker could pay dividendds in the long run. Go for it Jamie
