Leicester match video evidence

Recommended Posts

What a muppet of a referee we had against Leicester. Anyone watching the video will see how poor some of his decisions were in particular the "contest" between Russell and the Leicester keeper.

Round one was when the keeper lost the ball went to smother it and Russell quite correctly slid in to attempt to get the ball. There can be no doubt that genuine attempt and nearly got it before keeper collected. Keeper then gets up and basically molests Russel. At worst yellow for Russell and red for keeper but the referee bottled it.

Round two Russell in box free pushes ball past on rushing keeper who turns his back and clouts Russell. A certain penalty and keeper goes for second yellow. It HAS to be a foul as keeper got nowt on ball.

It was one of the most inept refereeing displays I have seen. Had it been a high-profile match between two top Premiership sides on Sky TV, then Mr. Bates would have found himself slipping down the ladder after this one.You know he got it wrong when the picture on the front cover of the Pink ''Un shows the Leicester keeper pouncing on Russel''s head. Shocking.

Quite right.  Keeper should have gone for first incident.  The second Darel has knocked the ball past him and needs to just tap it in, so not only is it a penalty, but also a red card as he has denied a clear goal scoring chance.
