lucky green trainers 0 Posted January 14, 2008 how on earth can a club like stoke afford £1.2m for leon cort??? they paid £300k for andy griffen only last week!!!where''s it all gonna end???
O.T.B.C 0 Posted January 14, 2008 Don''t think he is worth that much money, yes I would have him.
whoareyou? 0 Posted January 15, 2008 Stoke seem to be experts at picking up these bargains...no wonder they have such a solid team!
we8wba 0 Posted January 15, 2008 every forgets stoke got like 5m budget still, but unlike most teams who spend for sake of it, they pick signings which is why i like puliseveryone knocks him but dont care what they say at this level he is good manager
Buncey 1 Posted January 15, 2008 Cort is a very good player. £1.2 mill is quite a lot but he''s a good age being only 28 and he''s got plenty of experience.
Citizen Journalist Foghorn 0 Posted January 15, 2008 1 million pounds for a proven Centre half at this level. Leon Cort, Wayne Thomas, Fitz Hall all moved for around that sum this seasonThat seems to be the going rate for a proven central defender at this level. breaker2 0 Posted January 15, 2008 Crystal Palace signed him for 800k i believe, so not exactly a bad deal for the either, i would expect Warnock to be looking at his old club for signings...

[/quote]yep - the market is inflated cos of the amount of deals being done by teams in the champs. think bout it - we got a 30% mark-up on brown - for a failed striker - and £400k for a promising young keeper, yet to play for city''s first team. so if palace signed cort for £800k, £1m looks about right in the current market. mind you, if city''s budget is creaking at the seams, there''s better value to be found in celtic/rangers reserves!!! breaker2 0 Posted January 15, 2008 Your right we could have got him, we didnt, just like we didnt get Berisha, and whats happened to him now hes been released. We got Semmy which was good. We got Fozzy which is good.We got Strihavka, Brellier, Murray which wernt that good. The guy obviously is a talented player, but he never wanted to leave a localish area, so we never had a chance of signing him.
