In the words of Lard, from Mark and Lard:

''Whhhhoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo?''

If he ain''t good enough for the Mackems he certainly ain''t good enough for us Premier boys.

Mr Worthington, sir, attributes of this guy are:-

one club player
not on top wages
runs all day
quietly industrious
totally reliable
free

probably a nice family man
loves his mum
drives a sensible car

All the attributes you have recognised as strong positives in the past.

But Mr Worthington, your majesty, there has to be more.
Especially in the midfield area

Don''t do it!!

I can''t get excited about this one. While I see the need to improve the size of the squad to cover injuries, suspensions etc...surely we should be looking to bring in players as good, or better, than we have already. If he''s just been released from a club in a lower division, what can he offer us? It seems that Worthy may be playing it a bit too careful in the transfer market. If Thirwell does come, I hope he''s good enough to push Francis and Holt for a place, rather than just playing in the reserves.
