Taylor and Joe Lewis....

Recommended Posts

Why are so many people saying it is a great deal and the money could be used for Taylor? Are you guys incapable of listening?Roeder has said - quite clearly - he will not be offering more for Taylor.... What he didn''t say was "If we can sell one of our brightest prospects for a very low fee, i will consider adding to the Taylor fund."Aside from which, who says we cant afford £250k? Maybe the club is playing hardball as they are confident of getting their man due to "player power"?I know Doomcaster did his annual "we''re so poor" routine but i think that should be taken with a pinch of salt as that appears to be his contribution before every transfer window.Added to this - £400k for an england youth international, very highly rated by all and sundry? very poor deal in my opinion. We''d be better off giving him a run in the team and flogging him in the summer for a heftier price if it is our intention to sell him.Hopefully Roeder will offer him the backing the lad deserves and he will decide to stay, i would be very disappointed to see him go. ESPECIALLY at such an awful price. Why is it a great deal if we negotiate a sell on clause? Surely 100% of the money would be better than 15% or 20% of it?Gilks has already said he''s considering leaving. Which would make Lewis our number 2 keeper. With Marshall''s performances reportedly interesting other clubs, We could go from 3decent keepers, to none. Do you think we could sign another keeper of Lewis'' calibre and potential for £400k should Gilks and Marshall leave? and for those about to retort with no, but we could with the money from Gilks, Marshall and Lewis....That would effectively be swapping three good keepers for one. That does not sound like a good deal to me....
