Polar 0 Posted January 4, 2008 a bidding war makes no sense. why would peterborough release the information on the deal and risk another club coming in? if norwich were wanting joe to go then surely they would publicise the deal to start a bidding war? i''m all confanboozled. tribes 0 Posted January 4, 2008 There is no doubt that Norwich want Lewis to leave. They want the money as soon as possible.
SWP = Poor Mans Ruel Fox!! 0 Posted January 4, 2008 It does seem odd that P''Boro are so keen for the news to be in the public domain and we are keeping quiet, when it should be the other way around to see if we would get an increased bid from somewhere else.Perhaps the club concerned about the fan''s reaction to losing a local lad?? Cottaging Canary 0 Posted January 4, 2008 Big decision for Joe, let''s not forget he''s not just a ''local lad'' but a massive City fan who had a season ticket in the Barclay before he signed pro. He probably never saw this day coming.

They''d probably offload him for serious profit in a years time...Don''t we do it? With our club hailing: "Money is available for striker ''Hefty Bob'' with profits from the other transfers of ''Doo Dah Dribbler'' and ''Weavin''Wotsit'' and the recent sale of ''Diddley Squit'' to ''Upforit United'' - and also the off the field projects will hopefully bring in much needed dosh for onwards and upwards ambitious things (with a little lot of prudence)......Once (that is) they''ve either been constructed, converted or refurbished - with the dosh that was actually earmarked for the ''Hefty Bob'' purchase - who we unfortunately lost out to a higher bidding, less prudent and more ambitious club....err.....sadly. But! We do have a manageable debt and just looka Leeds an'' Palarse an'' Charlton an'' QPR an'' Piswich an'' all them other wasteful football clubs that think the grass is greener - if it''s astroturf......an'' stuff.
