Pinks 0 Posted January 8, 2008
From BBC Sports website:Southampton are the £50m targets of an Icelandic consortium. (Mirror) And we''ve a nice little airport to boot.[:''(]But maybe Icelanders are ogres too? Be off with you!OTBC
I''ve just checked it on Google Earth.I make it 1147 miles from Reykjavic Airport to Norwich Airport with a further 4.7 miles from there to Carrow Road. Its 1178 miles from Reykjavic Airport to Southampton Airport, with a further 4.2 miles to St Mary''s.So we''re 30.5 miles nearer. If they were to fly from Keflavik International Airport instead of Reykjavic Birk then we''re only 28.1 miles nearer.Of course I''m not sure whether International flights go from Southhampton or Birk for that matter or indeed whether the flightpaths would make a difference as I''ve calculated as the crow flies. Also prevailing winds might make them nearer in terms of time as opposed actual distance.Shall I get on with my work?......[:$]

YankeeCanary 0 Posted January 8, 2008 If I were you WEEN_NASTY I would not put the brain battery on super-alert. It appears this group is attracted to things with red and white stripes. They are much more likely to make a fuelling stop in Sunderland before proceeding to Southampton.
